FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
The idea of the game is very creative and feels like chest it's very different from any other card game and the abilities are very very unique.
it has so much potential because of constant updates/fixes and quick responses from the support team.
The game has a good player base I've never waited to get into a match at any rank and the ranking system is very rewarding.
the game has a limit on gold'silver cards in a deck so it's not about how much money you spent, and ANY card can be used and played around with unlike hearthstone where only 10% of the cards are being used.
what does the game need?
1- arena.
2- android version.
keep in mind the game is still in beta but it's killing Skyrim card game.
Hi everyone. I've put off writing a review for a while as the game has been though a variety of changes. I've been playing since closed beta and I have to say after all the updates Gwent remains one of the best CCGs (competetive card games) on the market. I shall list some of the pros and cons here to make my review more concise.
Pros-
Very free to play friendly
Great visuals, complete with fully animated cards
High skill celing allows for more complex play
Mulligan system helps to make your deck feel more consistent
Less focused on RNG
Cons-
Minor technical bugs
Currently shallow card pool
New player decks feel uninteresting
Fast-paced, original gameplay, amazing artwork, beginner friendly and f2p friendly. Also developers constantly improve game quality through their interaction with the players' community and take suggestions seriously under consideration. 5/5.
I've played the game since the beginning of the open beta and over the years the game surely changed a lot with ups and downs. Some may prefer the previous version but I think they did a great job with Homecoming, the patch on which the game finally came out of beta. There is a lot of strategy and the deck building is rewarding, the choice you make have a great impact and you are not punished by bad RNG. Moreover the game is super generous (you can build a tier 1 deck in less than 2 weeks) and the developers are super passionate about the game and the keep improving it.
So i played Gwent in the beta for only about a month and really enjoyed it. When i reinstalled it i missed the first shock of homecoming and my first impressions of how the game had changed were mixed. The art style and visuals were amazing, you could really appreciate the artwork and aesthetics that are so polished but i also felt like something was lacking. The different archetypes felt more stale and my beloved wild hunt cards had completly changed but i gave it a chance.
Patch by patch the game is getting much better and i would be happy to invite anyone i know who would be interested to play ig. The game is by no means perfect but the latest Mulligan makes it seem more like the old Gwent and now it's nearly impossible to brick my deck if the last round is a short one!
A lot of the reviews are people angry who just want the old Gwent beta back and were very frustrated with Homecoming. I understand this but right now in January 2019 the game is playing pretty damn good and does not feel stale at all. It's by on means perfect but i honestly enjoy it as much as i have any card based game. Also the devolpers have been insanely generous with earning cards for free that i have happily bought the starter set and bought some metorite dust in the last sale. I guess sometimes we speak with are wallt and for someone who is pretty broke to spend money on a free to play game is a big thing!
Long story short if your on the edge or havn't played since the realease give it a chance!
