Grim Fandango Remastered

A unique plot line, great voice acting and graphics, and some challenging (yet not so hard as to be unsolveable) puzzles make this a keeper. The Tree Puzzle cost it the 5th star though...quite annoying, and I considered quitting there. Glad I persevered though.

Let me start by saying I grew up on Adventure games and played almost all of them as a kid. I LOVED the remastered versions of the Monkey Island Series and even Day of the Tentacle. THIS remaster had me scratching my head, trying to figure out what was actually remastered. The graphics aren't great and the screen is is a 4:3 format with bars on the sides of the screens. The cutscenes are obviously not remastered as the models look worse than those from when you are playing the game. Remastered indeed -- you will not be impressed by the graphics in this game. That being said, the game is humorous and somewhat enjoyable. The controls are weird -- the inventory ATROCIOUS and a huge pain to sort through.

The software is not optimized for 64-bit Macs and needs to be updated or it will not work in the future.

Great game but I had to launch it on my desktop to save the game, port the save file from C:>Usersname>Appdata>Roaming>Doublefine>Grim Fandango and then put these files on the laptop while at the same time toning down all settings because the game was stuttering. Very advisable not to get discouraged because of that and go through because IMHO this game is better than Monkey Island.

The Best adventure game .. hands down .. the best. Full Throttel and Day of the Tenticle were good but Lucasarts went all out in this one. The content and Day of the Dead theme made for an adventure game thas has never been matched.
