Description
Enter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned. This ARPG features complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting and quests with choice & consequence.
  • Dual Class - Combine any of six distinct classes with over 25 skills and modifiers per class. Base classes include Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist and Shaman.
  • Hundreds of Item Skills - Augment your class build with a diverse array of over 250 unique skills granted by items and equipment add-ons.
  • Collect hundreds of Items - Common, magical, rare, epic and legendary classes of loot. Plus over 20,000 possible magical affix combinations and over 200 rare affixes.
  • Quests with Choice and Consequence - You will face tough decisions that leave significant impacts upon the world. Strangers on the road, desperate families and even entire villages may live or perish based on your actions. Currently over 35 quests with 75+ lore notes to be collected.
  • Friendly and Enemy Factions - Earn favor with human factions to unlock additional quest lines, vendor discounts and special faction-based items and augments. Some neutral factions can be turned into allies but aiding one will make the enemy of another. Hostile factions will remember your deeds and deepen their hatred of you, sending out large packs and elite heroes to hunt you down.
  • Devotion, an additional layer of skill customization allows you to acquire bonuses and powerful secondary effects for your class skills. These are unlocked from a giant constellation map with points acquired by finding and restoring destroyed or corrupted shrines hidden throughout the world.
  • Rebuild the World - Help human enclaves survive and flourish by securing vital necessities, rebuilding structures and rescuing survivors who can then lend their services to your cause.
  • 4 Person Multiplayer - Connect with Friends or make new allies in glorious multiplayer. Multiplayer encounters will put your teamwork to the ultimate challenge.
  • Fast-paced Visceral Combat - Enemy blood spatters, ragdoll physics and satisfying enemy death effects. Smash in doors and fight house to house, leaving a path of demolished furniture in your wake.
  • Rotatable Camera - If you choose to survey the full beauty of the world and always fight from the most optimal angle. Levels are still designed so that players are not forced to rotate the camera; it is purely optional.
  • Secrets and Perils Abound - 200+ Enemy heroes and bosses, hand-configured with their own unique arrays of deadly skills. 20+ secret areas hidden behind crumbling walls, hidden gaps and mysterious locked doors. Explode obstacles or repair structures to open new paths.
  • Rogue-Like Dungeons - Descend into special locked challenge dungeons that require a rare crafted key, where enemy levels increase as you progress and player teleport is disabled. There is no way out except to complete the dungeon or die trying.
  • Dynamic Weather - The world is brought to life with region-specific climates and a variety of weather effects. A sunny day can cloud over with mild rain showers that builds into a booming thunderstorm. Variable wind gusts blow grass and affect objects like windmills.
  • Recipe Based Crafting - Collect over 250 crafting recipes that allow you to combine salvaged components into unique crafted items and then, later, use those basic crafted items with higher-tiered recipes to complete items of amazing power.
  • Reclaim Skill Points - The ability to pay to reclaim points alleviates the fear and frustration of having to make early, uninformed skill choices that could permanently gimp a character.

Can't get enough of this game

As someone who has severe commitment issues when it comes to games, Grim Dawn has been the most satisfying ARPG I've played since D1/D2. Arguably more so, since one of the biggest hooks for me with Diablo was battle.net while I spend about 90% of my time in GD playing solo. The dual-class system is really what sets GD apart from Diablo & Torchlight, the only other two ARPG franchises I've spent significant time on. Usually after one build of each class I lose interest in a game. But there are 42 different class combinations possible in GD (6 single and 36 dual), plus further customizable through the Devotion system. Then there's the action. It's fast-paced, gory, and literally screen shaking. You feel the impact of each blow or spell, and watching trash mobs explode and fly across the screen satisfies my soul on a primal level. Crate wasn't stingy on the loot either. It drops in copious amounts, though the game isn't overly gear dependent. Plus now there's the Crucible DLC which allows you to essentially farm for high end gear. Do yourself a favor and give this game an hour. I guarantee that if you're a fan of the genre, you will be hooked.

This is my first ARPG and it hooked me.

When my friends all played Diablo 2 I played Unreal Tournament. Looter games didn't seem interesting to me. Destiny changed that. I decided to try Diablo 3 and it seemed fun enough, so I bought it on PS4 and PC. As I played, I kept reading rave reviews about Grim Dawn, so I decided to try it and it just sucked me right in. Every review here paints the picture, so I won't repeat it. All I will say is that you should not skip reading the lore you pick up along the way. I just read the Trip Down South journal entries and...so disturbing. Whoever wrote that is in a really dark place.

The Life I Dreamed .

Grim Dawn is the life I dreamed 20 years ago when I first played an action role playing game. You can live the life of whatever hero/anti-hero you ever imagined within the confines of this world. The thought the developers put into this game is amazing. I have never in 20 years of computer gaming, played a game with such fun and depth in this particular genre. My faith in computer gaming is restored, and now I shall explore the world the game offers with a zeal I haven't felt in years. I don't mean to gush like a fan boy, however this game deserves all the attention it is getting. As a last comment, I would like to add that I seldom if ever feel moved to write a review. Get this game and live the life you want, knowing the game gives you the tools and world to truly thrive as a hero. You will not be disappointed.

Grim Dawn saved my ARPG fatigue

I love Grim Dawn, imo it's as close to a masterpiece a game gets Lets preface this with the obvious; ofc it's not perfect, no game is, it has its small "flaws" here and there, but dang do Crate strive to try and push Grim Dawn up there on the scale of quality After losing my interest in ARPGs around 2013/2014, mainly due to the repetitive inherent nature of the genre and the excessive grind some games "rely" on, and lack of decent/interesting creation/progression etc, i "turned my back" on the ARPG genre as a whole and kinda wrote it off as something i'd probably not bother to return to Despite that, in march 2014 the development of Grim Dawn caught my eye, and added it to my wishlist, but didn't back it on kickstarter/buy into early access ^oh boy have i regretted that It wouldn't be until 2017 that i "caved" and gave into my curiosity and bought Grim Dawn when i was bored with other games, for 13$ even. And omg was that the best 13$ spent. almost 3000 hours later and i think it's safe to say that not only did Grim Dawn bring back my love for ARPGs but made me fall madly in love with it, and it's the only ARPG that have grabbed me on this level and playtime since Diablo 2 The character building is so diverse varied, (while remaining viable), that it's like it has no end, and i keep making chars after char alt after alt to try different things out. It's not just one of the best singleplayer ARPGs ever, it's one of the best ARPGs ever. And they(Crate) keep adding to the game and updating it and tweaking balance, where other devs would have moved on long ago when there wasn't a "live service"/mtx market to milk. Absolutely fantastic, and the only thing that saddens me is that it's unlikely i'll live to see Grim Dawn get a sequel, but am i glad i at least got to experience this game and had all this time with it.

Diablo? POE? no GD!!!

Well coming from the big ones Diablo 1+2+3 and POE i can say that this game is just better than both together but i know POE will always be better than Diablo 3. it is hard rewarding and fun to play. with lots of things to do and get! tons of side quest and really good ones, can use mods which i will be using after hc+ultimate. i don't know why i waited so much to get this i regret not having it played when it first launched.
