Description
Enter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned. This ARPG features complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting and quests with choice & consequence.
  • Dual Class - Combine any of six distinct classes with over 25 skills and modifiers per class. Base classes include Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist and Shaman.
  • Hundreds of Item Skills - Augment your class build with a diverse array of over 250 unique skills granted by items and equipment add-ons.
  • Collect hundreds of Items - Common, magical, rare, epic and legendary classes of loot. Plus over 20,000 possible magical affix combinations and over 200 rare affixes.
  • Quests with Choice and Consequence - You will face tough decisions that leave significant impacts upon the world. Strangers on the road, desperate families and even entire villages may live or perish based on your actions. Currently over 35 quests with 75+ lore notes to be collected.
  • Friendly and Enemy Factions - Earn favor with human factions to unlock additional quest lines, vendor discounts and special faction-based items and augments. Some neutral factions can be turned into allies but aiding one will make the enemy of another. Hostile factions will remember your deeds and deepen their hatred of you, sending out large packs and elite heroes to hunt you down.
  • Devotion, an additional layer of skill customization allows you to acquire bonuses and powerful secondary effects for your class skills. These are unlocked from a giant constellation map with points acquired by finding and restoring destroyed or corrupted shrines hidden throughout the world.
  • Rebuild the World - Help human enclaves survive and flourish by securing vital necessities, rebuilding structures and rescuing survivors who can then lend their services to your cause.
  • 4 Person Multiplayer - Connect with Friends or make new allies in glorious multiplayer. Multiplayer encounters will put your teamwork to the ultimate challenge.
  • Fast-paced Visceral Combat - Enemy blood spatters, ragdoll physics and satisfying enemy death effects. Smash in doors and fight house to house, leaving a path of demolished furniture in your wake.
  • Rotatable Camera - If you choose to survey the full beauty of the world and always fight from the most optimal angle. Levels are still designed so that players are not forced to rotate the camera; it is purely optional.
  • Secrets and Perils Abound - 200+ Enemy heroes and bosses, hand-configured with their own unique arrays of deadly skills. 20+ secret areas hidden behind crumbling walls, hidden gaps and mysterious locked doors. Explode obstacles or repair structures to open new paths.
  • Rogue-Like Dungeons - Descend into special locked challenge dungeons that require a rare crafted key, where enemy levels increase as you progress and player teleport is disabled. There is no way out except to complete the dungeon or die trying.
  • Dynamic Weather - The world is brought to life with region-specific climates and a variety of weather effects. A sunny day can cloud over with mild rain showers that builds into a booming thunderstorm. Variable wind gusts blow grass and affect objects like windmills.
  • Recipe Based Crafting - Collect over 250 crafting recipes that allow you to combine salvaged components into unique crafted items and then, later, use those basic crafted items with higher-tiered recipes to complete items of amazing power.
  • Reclaim Skill Points - The ability to pay to reclaim points alleviates the fear and frustration of having to make early, uninformed skill choices that could permanently gimp a character.

I don't like it

Before i start, yes i did read the "behaviour codex" or w.e it's called. But the opinion of people, who behave seems to get hammered down by arrogant snobs(if this even gets read or approved). Therefore i will definitely point out the validity of my own opinion. And i WILL write off-topic. I've heard many good things about this game, in part over at Rhykker's. I have at one point bought Diablo 2, because i have also heard many good things about it. I didn't like it. My first MMO was Cronous. Nobody i ever told about it liked it. I liked it and i think it's way better than D2, even in terms of graphics..and even if you call it a "Diablo-clone".. I had found a D3 folder on my PC named "Telemetry" and even if it seems like common practice to take people's data i am very much opposed to that. I haven't touched the game ever since. And the story about that scandal made me extra cautious not to re-install even for the update. This game was quite boring. I thought it would allow me a to re-live my D3 experience, but better(based on the top review(LOL)). So i waited for a discount to use leftover money on my paysafecard. I had to tinker with the Graphics settings to get the right configuration, so my PC doesn't waste too much power while stille maintaining a good appearance. The game is top-down 2D-ish(2D as in zero camera action) and while that is my favourite style i find the progression a bit boring. Admittedly i haven't tryed a 2nd skill yet, but i don't think it's for me and i'm okay with that. The game reminded me so much of D3, that i decided to go get it again. And it's way better. I admit, that while playing D3 i do miss the classical graphics of Grim Dawn, but D3 is way more fast-paced and efficient in using cpu/gpu..I don't think, that either of these games are healthy as a main hobby. If you want a negative review of Grim Dawn, just search for "grim dawn boring". I'm not going through hell again just because D2-Fans downplay my opinion! GD=Zombies & Spiders

Just don't buy it

Constant nerfs with every patch completely kill any desire to play it.

Meh

It's an okay isometric, but this was one of the games I downloaded when I knew I was going to be without internet. Upon load it spent it's time trying to dial home some server and 'couldn't load' the actual game. As in, no gameplay without an internet connection. Total trash. Refund it. Do not recommend.

Better off pirating.

For the game itself, seems pretty fun. Being able to combine class is col, killing things is fun, pretty much if you enjoy this style of game you should like Grim Dawn. Bad thing may be how well some classes work, I haven't really played all possible combinations and some just may not really match well. You don't want to be doing 6 diferent damage types or somthg. Rather anoying thing about it though is the CONSTANT popups. If you level up, complete a quest, learn a recipe, gain rep, reach a new stage of rep, get a devotion point (special talent point), or get an achievement (even outside of galaxy) there is a popup informing you of this. Might even b mor things that I have yet to notice. It's rather anoying, you turn in a quest and BAM pop up informin you that you turned it in. I just turned it in, I think I know that I just complete the quest. Can be nice for rep stages (NOT rep gains) and level up though as you could conceivably mis that they hapen. Bigest prob with this is it's unfinished. Crashes a ton. I've had it crash 5 times within a hour, I'd say on average it crashes once a hour. Worst thing about this is that when the game closes from the crash you are back at the prison and everything you've cleared respawn. Just about to kill that boss and get some loot? Fuck you, now you have to fight your way back to the boss. Seriously, it is awful. I was on the third floor of some dungeon for a quest to kill three guys, two down one more to go and I crashed. Had to clear the whole way again. Another time, after killing a major boss I crashed before getting out (exit behind boss) so I had to clear to him again, kill him again, and then take the exit and activate the rift. No other way to get to that rift so I had to do it all again. I don't get why they get this archaic system, do what Torchlight 2 did and make it so respwns wen plyr wants. Crucible was pose to be out at launch but wsnt took 5 months thn they chrg for it. Assume all dlc is cut and just pirate game.

Game is Broken

Quitting the game straight to desktop or because of a crash causes your character to be inaccessible and crashes the game every time attempting to load. Do not buy this version it doesn't work.
