Fantastic RPG so far
so, im only a few hours in, but by this time i had already run into a bug with Bethesda's Skyrim. Can't say that about this game. it's very well polished thus far. I noticed they focused less on certain aspects to really hit hard in other aspects. For example, the world doesn't move around you, like a lot of games will. If you run through grass, nothing will move with you. But, you've got a giant world to explore, so it's ok if the whole world doesnt revolve around you. Then character customization, there's extremely rich dialogue so far throughout the game, but relatively limited character customization as you can't make a fat person. You're just limited to presets. And then, of course, there are items that are a bit more middling. Crafting is extremely simplistic, with items having preset upgrade restrictions, and the skill tree isn't anything ground breaking. it's very simplistic in its design, and goes with the more simplistic combat which has so far been a lot of hack, slash, and dodge. None of this is a bad thing. It all amounts to a VERY POLISHED (thus far) game with lots of quests to do, companions to interact with, LOADS of places to go, and non-frustrating, non-clunky combat. Realistically so far, the only issue i've had is the lack of information about playing the game. Like, my companions cry out for needing healed, do i just click on the health thing and they'll get the potion? Is a Naut outfit just a sailor's outfit? Yes, it is. I wish the information panel in the game provided a bit more information on these things. But, between the giant maps that are done like Baldur's gate or Dragon age, the rich dialogues, non-clunky combat, open skill trees, minor crafting options, and decent character customization... This game is truly fantastic. I honestly hope they sell a whole lot of this game so they decide to make more of this game. They just did an excellent job, overall. Get this game if you like open world RPGs, 100%
