Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition

Forsaken Gods was NOT developed by Piranha Bytes, the studio behind the original Gothic trilogy. It was handled by an obscure studio out of India that didn't really know what they were doing. If you thought unpatched Gothic 3 was riddled with game-breaking bugs, go look up some FG review videos. The final boss itself is a glitch, the game code essentially defeats itself. Do not waste your money on a mistake in gaming history that did not add anything of value to Gothic 3.

this game has been out 25? years. as of august 2024 this game plays on gog. until today steam was my favorite site were i have well over a 100 games. gothic 1 2 and 3 have not worked on steam for years and as today is august 21, 2024. why does steam sell games that do not work, i am scared to buy there now. gog is now my favorite game site!!!!!!!

Gothic 3 is a buggyland and you should not even try playing it in 2020+ before getting community patches and updates. After tons of patches and updates this game is pretty good, almost no bugs, lots of added content missed of forgotten by developers. But looking at difference between game from developers and game with community patches i don't understand why this patches are not part of the game yet. Even if gog can't legally sale it - copy can be stored somewhere at gog servers and available for download for anyone who byues the game. And information about this download should on game page. So, if you love Gothic and want to play part 3 - be ready to get a lot of community updates before playing. If you don't want to bother looking for third party files and installing them - don't even try to play this game, it's not worth it.

If you are a Gothic-Fan from Gothic 1 til 3: Don't buy it. The voice actor of the nameless hero is the best voice actor in the game, but its not the one you know as the the hero's voice. The game feels not like a gothic, the quests are mostly tedious and the world isn't really open. If you see it as a standalone game it can be funny, but you shouldn't buy it for more than 5 bucks.

The only thing that should be forsaken, is this game itself. Till this day I remember the HUGE disappointment after I played it for the first time. The plot is ridiculous and has almost nothing to do with any of the G3 endings. Gothic 3 was a great game which I played repeatedly. I spent hundreds of hours with that game. But Forsaken Gods is horrible, and when I completed it for the first time, I didn't play it ever again.
