A Personal Story: created by veterans of the BioShock series and the writer behind Minerva's Den, Gone Home offers the rich, nuanced details of one family's struggles to deal with uncertainty, heartache, and change.
An Immersive Place: return to the 1990s by visiting a home where every detail has been carefully recreated, and the sounds of a rainstorm outside wrap you in the experience.
No Combat, No Puzzles: Gone Home is a nonviolent and puzzle-free experience, inviting you to play at your own pace without getting attacked, stuck, or frustrated. This house wants you to explore it.
Fully Interactive Investigation: discover what's happened to the Greenbriars by examining a house full of the family's personal possessions, and the notes and letters they've left behind. Use your powers of observation to piece together a story that unfolds as you explore.

Gone Home is not a game.It is a walking simulator. You just walk around a house and uncover the story of the family that lives there. The writing is superb. The are a lot of relate-able moments in the story. The main plot line is well thought out and the voice acting is excellent. That being said, it took me only 2 hours to see everything.
I just adored this game, and I'm waiting to play a sequel. It was a beautiful story with beautiful graphics. I was engulfed in this game from the first few minutes. I'd have done without all the thunder, though... The creep factor was unneeded, though worth it.
I am going to start this review with a little humorous thing, which we have in my country. When talking about games (really, any kind of media) we like to comment “It has a soul!” about something good and opposite about something bad.
“Gone Home” definitely has a soul. And what I mean by this incredible pretentiousness is that you can’t deny that creators put a lot of love and care into this game.
So, the gameplay consists of exploration of the house, examination of items and listening to audio journals…. And nothing else. Yes, it is a short experience. Yes, there is not a lot to it. But, what has been be, been done with good quality: the writing is good and the voice acting is pleasant. More on the negative side I will have to admit, that some may find the story predictable, but in defense I’ll say that plot twist does not really matter (this game does not try to mind-screw you – it gives you a story to enjoy and, may be, think about).
Ultimately, you got to decide if you want more drama (this game is definitely a drama and NOT a horror). Pretty short, pretty sweet. I’d say give it a bash maybe on sale.
This game was brilliant. Not a single moment went by without me wanting to know to more. This game is full of emotion. Sure it may be 2 hours long, and yes it's just opening doors and listening to the recording's of different tapes. However, those doors that you open, you're constantly on the edge of your seat hoping that there isn't a jump scare. The audio tapes that you collect, they get better by each tape. Towards the end of the game, when everything reveals itself you will be hoping that the game doesn't end. Sure this may not be for everyone, but it's definitely one of my top 3 games of all time. In the end, I will never forget Gone Home.
So trend with leftist garbage started a long time ago, I see.
There is basically no gameplay here, its a walking simulator.
Presentation values are probably from the mid to late 2000s.
It all wouldnt be that bad, really, if it had some decent story/context.
But of course its about the brave lesbian doing what she wants in disregard to everything else, because she is a brave lesbian and thats all that matters.
I didnt even want to finish it.
If youre a normal person, there is nothing of value for you here.
