Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within

The story in this is awesome. The FMV doesn't look too bad. Though it is disappointing no longer having the Tim Curry, Leah Remini, Mark Hamill, or Michael Dorn who were in the last game, the actors aren't that bad. The puzzles aren't that hard (with the exception of the last puzzle which uses a grid obviously ripped off of some other game I haven't played which makes it unclear which person is you), but the story is worth it. Chapter 4 has a part that actually feels like an interactive museum tour (photos of real museums and a TOUR TAPE), the game makes you exhaust EVERY dialog option in some parts, and there are some VERY long expositional cutscenes, but besides from that it's worthwhile. Play it. Just don't expect GK1 in gameplay or puzzles.

Love this game, i belive i know it by heart. and there are only a few games i can say that about. got the cdversion when it came out, and is one off my most tressured games in my collection. right next to an original floppy disk version of monkey island! When i played this, it changed my world, and this game where the reason i became a programmer! Thank you Gog.com, i will buy it and recomend all my friends to do the same!

The Beast Within along with Phantasmagoria are two of the best games I played in the 90's. As for plot, storyline, and acting I think it's still one of the best all time. The creator's attention to detail as well as mixing in historical fiction gives the player a better since of history mixed with horror. It's a shame that this type of genre didn't last longer. I highly recommend this game for players that enjoy taking their time, reading all of the information provided (there is a wealth of information in this game), and getting your moneys worth out of it. I don't think you will be disappointed.

A crowd gathers at the castle Schloss-Ritter. They inform Gabriel, the Schattenjagger, that a werewolf is on the loose. Will Gabriel suspend his disbelief and investigate the claim, and help the people of Munich from the clutches of an evil beast? This is a puzzle adventure game with FMV. It is massively entertaining, with not overly challenging puzzles and great acting. Playing as Gabriel and his sidekick Gracie, you interrogate individuals, collect clues, and unlock the secret behind the legends of the Black Wolf. If you are at all interested in adventure games I would recommend this. Minus 1 star because many of the side stories in the game were ignored at the ending, and some of the "puzzles" are just impossible to figure out without a guide. Like: click this 1-pixel square to get an item that is the same color as the background.
