Is pretty good
Gets kinda old after a while as there's not too much content for it, but at least there's child labor and forced amputations

One of my best video game experiences
This game is right up my alley. It's a survival city builder, so the main activities are gathering resources and upgrading and expanding your city. The first time I played this game I only made it about halfway through before everything started hitting the fan. Nonetheless I probably played for at least 5 hours straight and was very engaged the entire time. I just beat the "a new home" scenario yesterday early in the morning after playing for nearly 12 hours straight. I've very rarely ever felt so engaged in a game. Although it may not have the replay-ability of some games each play session I've had with Frostpunk has left a lasting impact on me and positive memories that are likely to stay with me. I really love the overall theme/aesthetic and the soundtrack is phenomenal to boot. Very thought provoking and engaging game that isn't for everybody but definitely one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time.

Meh
Game is too short and don't have replay value. It's very well scripted but doesn't have random events that would make you tense about loosing game. Laws look good on paper but their effects are questionable and you can't change them, it's like ten commandments set in stone. Game span is about 6 weeks and that means children will never grow up, you can't school new engineers etc. I finished scenarios in one afternoon and while playing this game I got same feeling like playing some casual time managment game.

Different fortresses for different folks
If you need nice visuals, or can't be bothered to play games without tutorials (...why are you on GOG and not Steam again?), get this game. Otherwise, go get yourself Dwarf Fortress for free, learn to play in a more forgiving biome, then settle an evil glacier. You'll thank me later. This game is a This Is The Police-esque morality romp: Pick Menu Option 1 or Option 2, neither of which is right or wrong, and watch the trauma unfold. DF, and the other games on which Frostpunk is based, are straight-up *story generators*. Don't settle for less.

Addictive!
I play games for 30 years now and immersion has always been my favourite feature. Well, Frostpunk absolutely nailed it. In short: + interesting and new setting + challenging but not unfair game mechanics + customizable difficulty + interesting story and plausible events + good motivation despite tough decisions + free dlc (different scenarios) + high replayability Good job devs!
