Description
Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare is set in a chaos filled world occupied by battling factions, bandits and warlords who seek to rule the world. The game is about your career as a faction leader: Start with minimal assets, you need to make money, build an army, wage wars against other factions and eliminate your rival forces with thoughtful strategies and fine marksmanship and eventually conquer the world. The game provides a completely different shooter experience which strikes a balance between intense first-person action and general strategy. The game's innovative combat system blends tactical FPS with real-time strategy, allowing you to command an army, plan for tactics in the God view, while immersing in the intense firefight as a foot soldier, in the first person perspective.

Features:

FPS meets Sandbox Strategy Game Start your career with almost nothing, you must make money, recruit soldiers, loot villages, fight bandits, attack territories and dominate the world. The game is a combination of challenging action and a wider strategic theater.

Shooter and Real-Time Strategy Experience the unique combat system which blends real-time strategy with tactical first-person shooter. You are expected to strategically plan the movements and tactics of multiple squads in addition to having to be an eagle-eyed sharpshooter and possessing catlike reactions.

Realistic Combat Simulation The game is about realism. Killing 100 enemies with only a pistol is not possible. You will be challenged by highly intelligent AI that is capable of advanced tactical maneuvers such as flanking, surrounding and even fake retreating, almost like what you would experience in real combat. Only carefully planned tactics, equipment and cooperation between squads can bring you victory. Are you up to the challenge?

High Re-playability The random nature of starting points, enemy AI and objectives will make every battle feel different and challenging. There is no linear gameplay: You have the freedom to decide how to progress in the game, who to fight, what equipment and squads to use and how to dominate the world.

Mount and blade with Gopnik n' Guns ^w^

From 0.6 to 0.9 they is super big update make the game is 10 time smoother , menu are more clean but need a little work, the IA with you are kinda Meh if u dont control it, weapon feeling are great and the world is great/enjoyable for the first 10 hours at least and more, u making u'r own objectif in the game do u choose to be a gopnik lord , or a military mercenary , or a farmer with this rifle , u can be what u decide (in the limit of the game off course) , u can have companion, raid city or help poor peasant being raid, u can be tactical commander and command troop and u just drink vodka in back watching them get wipe or they wipe bandit and shit etc..... in conclusion: the game was surprisingly good for the small price i would recommend it for sure, he can occupy maybe around 30 to 50 hours depending if u get some objectif by yourself or do the quest in bar or give by faction or peasant.

The best Platoon level FPS you can get.

Reviewed version 1.0-1.01 after 92 hours of play. In summary, it is a good game, even great if you consider the price. You should buy it. I've played every aspect of the game during long sessions without having a sngle crash or finding a game-stopping bug. I've found minor things in need off adjustment, but I've seen the devs working on fixing them in an ongoing basis. They seem to be engaing the community and working to polish the post-launch issues. Take pre-launch reviews with a grain of salt. The game advanced quite a lot during the late development period. It is also similar to Mount and Blade and Jagged Alliance, but not a straight copy. It blends a few genres together to make a product that is distinct. The game in a nutshell... You are in a fractured country in the middle major of a civil war. There is no centralized government at all, though a number of factions assert their authority in different parts of the country. You are thrown into the mix to do as you will. Be a good guy, be a bad guy, or just mix them up in an opportunistic way. The best part about the game is that it doesn't tell you what to do or how to do it. You can play lone wolf, you can associate with any number of factions, or you can go all the way to lead your own state and rule the land. You can fight solo, or with any mix of forces you see fit. There are quite a number of different types of soldiers and truckloads of equipment to mix and match. Each squad is as unique as you choose to make them. You can win by brute force, but you can also win by using the right combination of forces and equipment. One of the highlights of the game is the FPS combat. FGW is one of a few games that allows you to deploy something bigger than a squad, and certainly one of the few that gives you good tools to manage them. If you are interested in experiencing bigger engagements then this is the game for you. Big unit tactics pay off that I've only experienced in the late (turn based) JA games.

Mount & Blade with Guns (almost)

Owning this game since April 2019. This game get's a lot of comparisons with M&B and it's not hard to see why. But after all there's no doubt that this is a good FPS game. Shootouts are genuinely tense and have a (semi) realistic feel. At the beginning you only have weapons with iron sights at your disposal and you can barely see your enemy which is absolutely fantastic and makes every kill meaningful. The devs significantly toned done the difficulty since early access and I'm personally not 100% sold on that. I loved the feeling in the first few hours that you can get rekt by a dozen looters but now you can rek them quite easily from the start. That being said, it's more accessible now and feels less grindy. The world itself is not as interesting as M&B but they've added a lot of regions and combat maps since EA. Lemme tell you that the combat maps are beautiful and raiding camps has been improved significantly. Also, the world isn't incredibly immersive and it has some grind in it. But I don't regret my purchase at all.

Got on steam and returned

I had bought this on steam and returned it within like 20 minutes. I know there ere going to be issues after 3 combats that went the same way. Enemies snuck forward in a long line, got to you, stood up, got shot, next person popped up in the same spot. Now these were night time engagements so maybe its ok during the day. I returned it quickly so I could get my money back. Maybe this is fixed so I gave it 3 stars but fair warning, watch a youtube video or something before buying it. cheesing a game is fun, bad AI is boring.
