An indie as it should be
A captivating narrative, simple but interesting gameplay, and overall, it has everything this type of game should have.

Very unique adventure
Went into it blind and was pleasantly surprised by the narrative of this game. Would recommend.

Don't bother
I actually like to defend these so-called "walking simulators" because I'm all for great story. Even if I could complain about the base price of Gone Home, for instance, I otherwise thought it was an engaging enough experience to recommend, because the point of these games isn't gameplay, it's about story and atmosphere (art, in essence). You don't have to like this, of course, but everyone has their differences in what they lie out of a game. However, even as a defender of this genre, I'll admit this game is not worth the time. I've seen quite a few people say the story was built well until the end, but frankly, I thought the entire story was awful. From the very beginning we have this silly and ridiculously lengthy narrative of your character's life which tells rather than shows. This is something I would've rather actually experienced through the game one way or another, rather than forced dialogue choices made to give you the impression of tough choices when, in reality, other option would exist. But even cutting right to the meat of the game, straight away I was legitimately facepalming at this supposedly "great" dialogue. Right from the beginning the two central characters have a distaste for each other, for no real reason. "So what's wrong with you?" is said almost straight away with no build whatsoever. I get the idea is they're supposed to dislike each other and learn to like each other by the end, but you can do that without having to just throw an insult out of the blue. It was already clear the intent of the creators was to manufacture the drama as opposed to let it flow naturally. It's a forced narrative through and through, and the rest of the game shapes up to be that; this was merely the primer. Says a lot when I already hate a game five minutes in. So from ANY storytelling perspective, I cannot recommend this, and considering this isn't a gameplay-centric title, there's nothing to recommend here other than a beautiful landscape. Avoid otherwise.
