Description

Feudal Alloy is an epic action adventure with fish-controlled medieval robots!

Explore an unusual medieval world with a fish-controlled robot, Attu. Improve your combat techniques and skills by smashing many kinds of mechanical creatures in a beautiful hand-drawn world.


Attu is an ordinary farmer robot who lives in a small cottage in sunflower fields. He had been living a simple but pleasant life until a bunch of outlaws attacked the village, stole their oil supplies and burnt his house.

Fortunately, he managed to grab his old sword and fled into the woods.
Get lost and discover a huge interconnected world, filled with a wide range of enemies, bosses, skills, and equipment. Choose which paths you take and which enemies you face. Try to defeat the evil and find your way back home.

Great potential but lack final polishing

Technically game works perfectly well on Linux, FPS is great no issues there but gameplay wise it's currently receiving bad rating. Main flaws that i would note: 1 - Lack of tutorial, story, explanation and overall introduction. Only summary available is on the beginning which would be ok for game trailer but not for the whole game. Basically the rest is on you to figure out. 2 - Same as first issue but this time it goes for in game menu upgrades , items, map and basically any type of crucial in game interface that interacts with the game. This is harder one to accept due to lack of understanding of gameplay core components and interaction. 3 - Range type enemies without having range weapon to defend yourself, lack of knock-back function, depletion meter functionality that is poorly executed and crowding of enemies over player hero asset that causes sword attacks to miss the enemies. 4 - Save points and teleport's that are too far away, game shop central to beginning which can't be justified in this particular game . There might be more but hopefully this is helpful. Trick is that all these are easy to fix, game came out in 2019 and no updates yet in the areas mentioned. Hopefully developers will see this comment and take notes.

Massively disappointing.

A lot of wasted potential. -Screwy, sometimes unresponsive controls make platforming annoying. -Padded difficulty requiring hours of grinding to level up in order to handle tougher enemies. -Reptitive level design, enemies, and music give me a sense like I'm not really seeing anything new. -Frustrating level design that requires pixel perfect button presses in order to traverse certain death pits. Really, the only thing this game has going for it is a beautful aesthetic and a cute idea. The execution is below par on just about every level. This game almost feels like the devs didn't take enough time to really think it out from a player's perspective. I was really excited about this game, that's why it sucks to tell you it's not worth your money.

Interesting idea spoiled by bad design

My Video Review can be found here: https://youtu.be/UutHrCOqXLU It’s clear from the very beginning that Feudal Alloy is one of those small games that have been developed with love and passion. I appreciate the original main character, quite innovative fighting mechanics, real effort to create metroidvania with RPG elements, reasonable difficulty, hand drawn graphics and medieval-like soundtrack. Unfortunately, all these good things were spoiled by a generic environment that makes the game repetitive very soon, absence of appropriate map, uninteresting enemies, insufficient effect of the upgrades, sometimes inaccurate controls and mediocre sounds. Pros: - main character - fighting mechanics - difficulty - graphics - soundtrack Cons: - environment - repetitive - absence of appropriate map - enemies - upgrades - sometimes controls - sounds It is not easy for me but I have to give this game Thumb Down and VideoGaming Father’s Index 5- out of 10 - not recommended.

Inexcusible controls

I think the game looks pretty cute, and, while I'm only a few minutes into the game, I think it could be quite fun, however the controls are inexcusibly bad. They would be out of place on a game made 10 years ago, and absolutely awful now. Worse, there are many different actions, so many they choose to put a quick reference guide in the pause screen, and this is only the default controls, so they're actively wrong if you rebind (as you probably should).

Something is not quite right

The game isn't bad, but something is missing for it to be actually good. It's just not fun to play unfortunately. I played it a bit and I can say the art style is obviously excellent. The setting is intriguing. The level of polish is satisfactory. Only had a couple of bugs that ware insignificant. I have two main complaints though: 1. The game is a bit confusing. Sometimes you will pick something up and a text will appear but you will be fighting at the same time so you will miss it and have no idea what the game was trying to tell you. Other times you will just get lost in the world that has sub par map, obviously on purpose but I question that design decision. I definitely wasn't invested enough in the game to remember a path I took. And another thing that is confusing is the inventory where you can't clearly see what stats you gain by changing items. 2. Save points make the game tedious. They are few and far between and, unlike other games that have similar save points like Dark Soul, you can't easily run between them. Some enemies are specifically designed to slow you down, or hit you if you try to ignore. A missed opportunity really. I hope the devs learn their lessons and release a better game in the future.
