FATAL FURY SPECIAL

The game is amazing, it´s a classic, but the portability is horrible. DotEmu definately is not a good company to emulate Neo Geo classics. 1) No graphics options, like scanlines and video filtering. The graphics are very pixelated in a modern monitor. 2) The player can´t configure the joystick, and is not possible two players use joysticks at the same time, for a multiplayer local match. 3) It´s not the Neo Geo AES version, it´s the arcade version (MVS). So there are no options for training mode and versus mode. The special moves and commands are not visible to the player at the pause menu. 4) The arcade version is ridiculously difficult, even in the level 1 of difficulty. 5) There is no online mode. I am not a native english speaker, so I apologize for my grammar mistakes.

Gamepad is not allowed. Gamepad emulator works incorrectly with the game. I didn`t make a refund only because of the hope that you would upgrade the game.

3/4 instead of 4/5 due to lack of two controller support. Though I prefer Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special is pretty good. In the DotEmu release you're stuck using a controller for one player and keyboard for the other player. Fortunately, the included rom file (rbff2.zip) works with emulators like Winkawaks and MAME. With said emulators you can use two XInput (360, Logitech F series, PS3) controllers. $6 for the rom is reasonable, and is perfectly legal upon purchase.

I was excited when I saw SNK Beat-em ups on GoG, so I purchased this so I can relive my arcade days on PC. After installing the GoG download I booted up the Game, the Options were very limited you couldn't even change the controls and there is no Gampad support. After realising this is nothing more than a ROM packaged with a terrible Frontend I managed to get the game working with a well known and popular (M)ultiple (A)rcade (M)achine (E)mulator. I'm happy now but I would imagine that the average Gamer wouldn't be too happy with jumping through all the hoops I did to play the game the way they wanted to. If the game can be fixed so that you can change the controls and include gamepad support this classic would get a higher score that it deserves.

Up to now the game is dead: - the game rushes like cheetah / framerate issue, so you just can't play it - emulator interface works with joystick, the game - doesn't.
