In Fata Deum you build settlements and compete with other gods for influence. The more followers you have, the more power you wield.
You can lift mortals into the air, toss them around for fun, or guide them with care and help them thrive. Whether you're a warm-hearted deity, a cold-hearted tyrant, or something in between, your playstyle shapes the world. The environment reacts to your actions, becoming bright and beautiful or dark and corrupted.
Mortals will respond to your presence. They’ll pray, plead, and ask for help—or punishment. Grant their wishes, smite them for disobedience, or... just kick them in the butt. Your actions shape not only the world, but your followers' very behaviour.
That’s all too nice? Sacrifice them to summon a mortal or kill them and use their corpses to resurrect some zombies! Steal their energy to get more mana or sacrifice the weak to boost one of your strong warriors. You have many options!
During the day, use your influence on the mortals. Will you bless and inspire them onto good work, or strike fear into their hearts with terrifying visions? But be wary, the townsfolk have their own free will.
At night, you can manipulate settlements. Instruct the mortals to build you mighty temples for worship, farms and lumber mills so that they may prosper, or even to ruin other villages.
Perhaps you’d like to be a tyrant, ruling over a kingdom of debauchery and blood. Raise an army and sacrifice your mortals to summon terrifying demons. Your choice.
Or maybe you do believe in fun, festivities and spreading the love, but have no qualms weakening your enemies by spreading fear - or just hitting them with a Thunderstrike.
As your influence grows, the living world will shape around it, getting ever more vast. Each god manifests their kingdom differently.
Will yours be a kingdom of crops and light, or twisted trees and glowering darkness? You’ll battle gods of Violence, Deceit, Fertility and Pleasure.
Master different challenges set by the goddesses of fate themselves and write your own story as a young deity who grows up to fame and honor.

Current state
This game is far from complete and the final version should be much different from the current state. Currently I would consider this an stable beta with the basic evil mechanics fleshed out enough to be playable. This is just enough to see the concept they are aiming for but needs a lot more work. Give it a try if you want but keep in mind it is Early Access.

Return of the God Game
The God Game is back! While there is no creature this Early Access title holds great promise for a renewal of the genre and I'm looking forward to seeing what new features will come out in the future Updated rewiew: I still believe this is a great god game, and the canvas they're working with is a very good start. There are a few things I hope will be improved down the line, especially the way the AI of the adversary gods you're competing with - especially in terms of what strategies they employ, what characteristics are key to the way they progress or counter your progression. At the moment it feels like the adversaries fight a war of attrition no matter which god you're fighting - this leads to somewhat frustrating end game results. I hope that victory conditions change a lot by the end of early access, currently victory is determined by completing quests provided by the three fates - but I'd like to see other victory conditions. I hope that they change the way gods can influence both within and outside their territories and look closely at how that worked in B&W 1 especially. Currently there doesn't seem to be any major changes in how your powers work with greater or lesser amounts of influence. (No key significant difference between a god with 1000 followers and one with 200, this feels a bit awkward) The way wonders (miracles) work is very cool, and really feels very similar to B&W. The way construction works seems a bit early in its design stage, but there is a complete profile of buildings for every resource and the utilisation of every resource. I would like town borders to be more malleable. Trading is in need of a rework in my view, especially on large maps as being able to only trade with neighbouring towns means transfering certain key resources from one end of an island to another takes several days of clicking. I wouldn't mind it taking more time to arrive from one place to another, but I'd definitely like the opportunity to trade across the whole island if I have the road network for it. I'm super happy to have gotten to return to a proper god game. If you miss Black & White this game holds a lot of promise, and it's looking like it is going in the right direction. Some things could have been made less tedious, and some things I would love to see more complex, but for now I'm very happy with both the game and the time I have spent exploring it.

off to good start for this god sim
first of all i have encounter no bugs playing this game at the moment as for game it self plays very well you gain mana by amount of followers you have you can attack loots villages however in order take settlements all depends on your actions all actions have effect on how people see you on this game you get ability to answer prayers to improve your standing among your followers in your settlements you own for settlements you don't own can't answer prayers to win them over this where its gets little like black and white 1 in order to win over other settlements give resources you pull trees and put them store house for resources this improve standing with them you use god powers to also improve standing with them and attempt to win them over your not alone you will compete with other deities in attempt of out proforming them remember every action you make has affect here depending on how well you work that action to get the better of your rival in getting that settlement to some up you don't have good or evil conscience on this game unlike black and white did you can't conquer settlement with troops you are to use your troops to break them down until they decide surrender and join as one of your settlements little different from black and white 2 their doesn't seem to be no alignment system where things change like your hand looking evil like did black and white 2 if thats if thats good bad you decide can't put resources your building to speed up constuction you can pick up trees and tranfer them into resources in your settlement this improve your standing with your followers floating scroll quest are still indevelopment but you get rewarded with experience points for finding there location that allows deity to go up a level that you can use to unlock greater god powers like raining down meteors and summoning demons levels on how much work you put in to this skill same goes for the meteor power you can use god powers boon as well it's a good god game worth the buy
