Did you ever want to reroute power to the shields, set phasers to stun, or even eject the warp core? Well, now you can! In FTL, you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions. What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.
FTL's complex strategic gameplay allows you to give orders to your crew, manage ship power distribution, and choose weapon targets in the heat of battle. You will encounter unique alien lifeforms and technology. You can upgrade your ship and unlock new ones with the help of six diverse alien races. Be the Captain you want: hundreds of text based encounters will force you to make tough decisions. In the randomized galaxy each play-through will feature different enemies, events, and results to your decisions. Each time you play another challenging session of FTL: Faster Than Light, it won't be quite the same.

A great title... RUINED
I used to play and love the classic FTL, it was hard but fair. This Advanced Edition (sequel?) would be okish if I did not know where it came from. It is not only hard, but extremely unfair. You are faced with random, non calibrated enemies (or worse, text events!) that can wipe you out in the blink of an eye. On top of this, no save available, not even as an option, so the learning curve is veeery steep and, frankly, not worth it. I payed 10 € for this and would not recommend buying it, not even on sale. Unless frustration and ragequitting are your thing, of course, which this game has aplenty.

Fantastic little gem
I'd been watching out for this as it had been hyped in PC Gamer quite regularly and it sounded right up my street. It is indeed brilliant, a fantastic little game that deserves to do well. Also one of those "why has no one done this before!?!?!" type of games-it just works really really well. My one and only regret was that I got it on Steam before noticing it was on here as DRM free easy installing across multiple machines would have made this a perfect fit for the gaming laptop my family use for journeys in the car!

Fun but hard
It is a fun game, but very hard (to me at least) esp. since there is no easy save and load functionality. I play an average of 6 games in one hour and never get beyond the third sector. I wish there was a super-easy setting!

Excellent Game
Simple, easy to use interface Great concept amazing replay factor I've had it for a little over a day, and spent most of 10 hours on it already. The price was great, and the game is awesome.
