Far Cry®

I never knew this game before I bought it, I just wanted to play some shooter, so I went on GOG and I bought this one... I liked the description "sandbox FPS"... Well, the first thing to make clear: This is NOT sandbox, but still there is lot of fun with this game... you are free to go anywhere, but mostly there is no content if the place is not connected with the current objective... the "levels" are still pretty big, and there are mostly more possibilities how to go through the current objective... It has quite pretty graphic, great story (not much invention in it, but it is cool enough), lot of (covert) action... This is not common shooter, where you can "go Rambo" on everyone and everything... you are a loner fighting against lotta more of enemies and some of them are quite tough, so it is wise to scout the surroundings and find the best way to go through (or maybe clean a bit of enemies from safe distance). The main flaw is friggin AI, because on many occasions, you have to sneak on enemies, but the engine for sneaking is really bad, because sometimes the enemies see you even when they are turned with their backs on you, or sometimes they see on insane distance... so this is the reason for minus one star :) but still I enjoyed this game quite a lot, and it has quite a lot of mods on the internetz, so you can play a new missions, new stories, lots of possibilities...

I bought this game when it first came out in 2004 and have played it countless times since. I've always had it installed on whatever computer I had at the time. The absolutely *HUGE* maps make replay value better than ANY other shooter I've ever played.

i got this game when it first came out. and still play it today . that's how good this game is. i would have bought it just for the graphics alone. i had high hopes for crysis 2. but you know what happen..

I have a original disk of Far Cry and i want to say that this game is very great ! This is more like a sanbox game then a normal first-person shoter like Call of Duty. When I got further in the game i saw some aliens and i was scared and amazed. The graphics look nice for 2004 game. It has ragdoll physics and i was very amazed because i didn't saw alot of games at 2004 that have ragdoll physics. The bigest minus is that the multiplayer doesn't work, at least for me... The final verdict for me is 9/10 and i highly recommend to play it :).

The year is 2024 and this is still my favorite game :)
