A tropical paradise seethes with hidden evil in Far Cry, a cunningly detailed action shooter that pushed the boundaries of combat to shocking new levels.Freelance mariner Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago, a brash female reporter named Valerie had offered him an incredible sum of cash to take her to this unspoiled paradise. Shortly after docking, however, Jack's boat was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming about the island.
With his boat destroyed, his money gone, and the gorgeous Valerie suddenly missing, Jack now finds himself facing an army of mercenaries amidst the wilds of the island, with nothing but a gun and his wits to survive. But the further he pushes into the lush jungle canopy, the stranger things become.
Jack encounters an insider within the militia group who reveals the horrific details of the mercenaries' true intentions. He presents Jack with an unsettling choice: battle the deadliest mercenaries, or condemn the human race to a maniac's insidious agenda.

I am using GeFore 7900GS and Core2Duo 6550. Last week I downloaded the demo version of Far Cry. In that version only the lowest graphic quality is available, but it already stuns my eyes. So I decided to buy this game. In the full version, I can set the graphic quality to "Very High", and it is really amazing. I also bought DOOM 3 some years ago, but I can play it only with medium quality. I would recommand this
game if your hardware if you like first-person-shooting game.
it was the best graphics and the best game when it came out. a huge world alive with life and danger.
multiple ways to complete the missions. (i loved the sniper rifle, :) if you like FPS games and have not already played, go for it.
note: to get the full effects of the games graphics. you need at least a P4 3ghz. with 2 gigs ram,
and a 256 meg video card. geforce 6600 was in the machine i originally ran it on.
One of the best fps of all time. Graphics and story are amazing, while the story keeps you wanting to keep playing. The game does get hard at times but totally worth it when you see the credits roll.
This is one of those classics that will never die. I think it stands among UT99 and Doom as one of the greats of gaming. The AI is responsive, making the game difficult, and the plethora of ways to complete missions adds another layer of depth. Go Rambo style, or take a sniper and a machete for a ninja approach. Its your call.
i think my days of rpgs are done.i really dont have the time to sit and really get engulfed with them anymore.so ive been looking for games with more guns and still a good story but much less of it...besides the fact that goin stealth in this game is almost impossible the graphics are fab and still it runs so smooth on my old pc..guns are great.sounds are great.ai is a challenge but as long as you keep moving youll get through rough parts.story is a little bland but the driving and gun fights are awesome.can pick up anytime and have fun.
