Guaranteed to Raise Your Blood Pressure
Enemies can see you from hundreds of metres away and kill you with very few shots. They can be hidden by dense foliage. Truly one of the most punishing first person shooters- no quicksaving. Still a good game but holy moly don't play it if you have anger management issues unless you have money for a new monitor and keyboard.

It brought FPS games out of the darkness
Far Cry was definitely something new for its time. An open world with lush, colorful graphics that actually allow you to see what you are doing. In a time when other games stuck with darkened rooms with repeated jump scares, Far Cry stood out as story where you could sneak up on the bad guys. Enemies didn't automatically know where you were and start firing in your direction. They had to find you first. The limited number of weapons you can carry is a stark contrast to gets like Doom, but this ends up being sufficient to get you through the game. Vehicles to drive and fly over land, sea, and air make the game a lot of fun. The stealth aspect is well done and allows you to hide from your enemies, unlike other AI that simply closes in on your character no matter where you are. I am giving it Four Stars for a great game with limited bugs.
