We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.
There has never been a better time to sample the capital’s delights! Fallout: London lets you explore the wonders of the city 160 years after the bombs have dropped, and 40 years before the events of Fallout 3. You can now reimagine Fallout in a London-centric universe, interacting with a brave new world of London-based locations, stories, factions, creatures, weapons, and gameplay mechanics.
The Gentry-dominated London stands on a knife-edge, and you may be the key to which way the guillotine falls. Play a new story set in London with a fresh character beginning, numerous conflicting factions to engage with and multiple story paths and endings with up to 90 hours of gameplay. Just be aware of what terrible secrets you may uncover in the shadowy gaps amidst the halls of power.
Discover new weapons, creatures, clothing, items, collectables, architecture, foliage and NPCs to complete the London setting. Interact through the world with your custom Atta-boy, with a fresh interface based on the UK’s life-saving Protect and Survive nuclear information campaign.

Great Game for Experienced Modders
Have been enjoying my time a lot with this mod, however, if I weren't already a very experienced modder, this would genuinely be unplayable as many other reviewers have mentioned. To make the install process as painless as possible for myself, I bought a new FO4 copy on Gog and installed the mod from there. With just those two steps I was able to explore, albeit with 30-50fps on a 4090, 13900k. Not satisfied with this experience I went through the discord, changed my INI settings, capped my FPS, and only after installing an external INI editor was I able to achieve a stable 90fps (anything over caused speed up issues). Next came the crashes... Unlike many others, I didn't experience the "Train Crash Crash", but just random crashes while exploring the overworld, or while entering/exiting locations. Later I found this was due to a small setting in the Buffout config, which after changing fixed about 60% of my crashes. I still crash often while fast traveling. Another frustration out of the box is the literal minute and a half load times to go to the London overworld, this required the Long Load Time Fix, which worked for me, but supposedly causes many issues for others. To make a long story short, my experience with Fallout London has been very much enjoying the content I'm presented with, running into a game breaking crash or glitch, searching the discord and forums for a fix, applying that fix, then repeat. Also just to vent a bit, I know the devs are mostly British, and don't have experience with firearms like many in the west do, but the sheer lack of damage firearms do in this game is laughable. An unarmored headshot with a service rifle to a human enemy does like 1/3rd of its health, with body shots being weaker than a smack with a bat. What the heck. Were this game to have no CTD errors or issues that require a host of mods to fix, I'd give it an 8/10, with these issues, if you're not an experienced modder, this is at most a 1-2/10 as its unplayable.

Filled with a Plethra of Problems
Hopefully the devs will iron out all the issues eventually, but as of right now, it's unplayable with the constant crashes.

Excellent quality for a mod - Some bugs
First off, for a mod this thing knocked it out of the park. I know it's assets added on top of an existing engine, but it feels like playing a beta version of a full fledged fallout game. The amount of content was equivalent to Fallout New Vegas, but compressed into a full city. My biggest issue is optimization & fast travel. And a tiny issue where the voice lines don't change based on your character gender. Optimization is badly needed. Or an easy way to integrate existing performance mods. Multiple crash to desktops which were only resolved by dialing visual quality to the bottom. Especially when you get to a late game area with a lot of assets. Fast travel is also a big issue. The way the map is structured, you need to have 2 map loads in the late game. One to get back to the city proper, another to get to your destination. It's a lot of loading screens once you get to the late game.
