Blast 'Em Away With V.A.T.S. - Even the odds in combat with the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System for your Pip-Boy Model 3000! V.A.T.S. allows you to pause time in combat, target specific body parts on your target, queue up attacks, and let Vault-Tec take out your aggression for you. Rain death and destruction in an all-new cinematic presentation.
Mind-Blowing Artificial Intelligence - At Vault-Tec, we realize that the key to reviving civilization after a global nuclear war is people. Facial expressions, gestures, unique dialog, and lifelike behavior are brought together with stunning results by the latest in Vault-Tec technology.
Eye-Popping Prettiness* - Witness the harsh realities of nuclear fallout rendered like never before in modern super-deluxe HD graphics. From the barren Wasteland, to the danger-filled offices and metro tunnels of DC, to the hideous rotten flesh of a mutant's face. *Protective Eyewear Encouraged.
After almost 20hours over the course of nights (After work) of messing around with my Steam version of this game, going through countless versions of "Easy Fix" for the Games for Windows Live issue and "xlive.dll" missing problem with constant frustration really wanting to play one of my most memorable games from the 360 era, a game I probably spent a good 700-800hours on wondering around hunting down every unique item I could, and REALLY REALLY wanting to play this game again (After 7years?) I had two options either dig out my Xbox 360 and hope it didn't have red ring of death (and deal with all the bad stutters and random crashes and low FPS it had) OR re-buy the game on GOG, after reading about so many people going through the same thing as me and trying everything they could to fix the Steam version of the game, I decided to purchase the game on GOG and pray for best.
BEST DECISION I MADE THIS YEAR SO FAR! You purchase the game > Download it > Play, runs smooth, no stutter, no GFWL Crap. Runs and Plays like a dream, now i can go back to being that crafty sniper with 10 agility and 1 intelligence.
TL;DR - Amazing, So happy I fount out about GOG.
Yes, even on Windows 10! Like Oblivion, you will probably want to at least install the Unofficial Patch and the Fallout Stutter Remover if you’re getting inconsistent performance, but other than that GOG’s build works perfectly fine. Well, minus a CTD that happened while testing mods. Still, it works as advertised. At least on my rig...
As for the game itself; it’s Bethesda’s take on the Fallout franchise, and while Fallout 3 is a controversial entry in the series (for good reason mind you), it’s still a very enjoyable game if you take it for what it is. Yes, the “3” in the title is problematic when you consider the games’s legacy, as it doesn’t really build on the lore in a way that’s very convincing or consistent. But that doesn’t prevent Fallout 3 from being fun. Really fun. It’s ridiculous at times, and some of the locations are pretty gimmicky, but that’s part of its charm.
Fallout: New Vegas arguably provides a more authentic experience as a proper sequel, but if you ask me Fallout 3 has a more engaging post apocalyptic setting. The story itself isn’t the best in the series, and the black and white take on morality goes against the setting’s ethos, but Fallout 3 remains a good time even after all these years.
Fallout 3 is a very nice Role playing game. You can choose different ways to solve tasks. The look is cool. The feeling is cool. This game is several years old. Grafik is of course not up to date - but still good.
Navigation through metro and different floors could be better. But maybe its the fault of my old pip-boy.
I really like this game and maybe i will play it in a few years again.
I used software from gog.com. The game worked pretty well out of the downloaded file.
