Nostalgia

Fallout 3 was the first Fallout I have played back in 2008 when it came out. Yes, it is not the best part of the series but man, the atmosphere. The atmosphere is so good in this one. Works out of the box on Win 10. Just install and play. No need of tinkering or installing mods if you dont want to. Not a single crash so far after 10 hours of playtime.

The bug still exists, but...

completed it twice, totaling 64 hours. There's nothing to say about the main task, it's simple and brief. The wasteland scenery in Washington is very beautiful. A few DLCs are worth playing with, but it's important to note the following points. 1. It is best to save a secondary archive for the alien DLC, as it is really easy to encounter bugs that can cause stuck missions to fail. 2. Before taking the ferry to the new DLC map, it is best to complete other DLCs and obtain good weapons before going, as the damage value design of this DLC is very violent. (Gauss rifles, Brotherhood cannons that fire Incre, extraterrestrial cannons, and other weapons will make combat relatively easier) PS: The location where Pittsburgh retrieved its equipment is in a box on the ground in the entrance room of the arena

Download from GOG website

Yes is old! but still wonderful to play. On GOG work really well without any tinkering or modding to get it started, Just an advice when you do the purchase then go over the GOG website and download from there because the download doesn't start from the galaxy platform.Once you've done that ENJOY!

Skeptical at first but loved it.

I remember the original Fallout (FO) and Fallout 2 (FO2) form 1997 and 1998. Old school Isometric RPGs. Loved them both. So, I was very skeptical. Loved Fallout 3 (FO3). Huge open world. DC and the wasteland were rendered excellently. Good story line which seemed to flow well. The way the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave had a natural enmity was well done in my opinion. Lots of side quests with many different locations to explore and NPCs to interact with. Most of the ones you receive from Moria were great/hilarious. All of these side quests really help out to flesh out this world and its lore. Excellent crafting system. Loved the Shishkebab and the Railway Rifle. Lots of equipment/weapons to find/take off of corpses, like the 5mm Minigun, the Gatling Laser and others from the original games and new items as well. Having "named" or unique items was an excellent touch as well. Power Armor was done well. It is certainly nice to have and use but does not make you invincible. Very good balance. And you have to have power armor training to use it as well. Wise move Bethesda. (Hint: do Operation Anchorage as early as you can. I did it at level 7-ish). The DLCs were great. The Broken Steel DLC added an excellent ending as well. My only complaint was the constant need to repair weapons and armor. Yeah, I get it, most weapons and armor you are picking up are around 200+ years old but it got onerous when you had to repair even your Named/Unique weapons after what I felt were a relatively small amount of using them. (Thank heavens for the bugged Winterized T-51B Power Armor). In conclusion, I set my standards low and was VERY happily surprised. Nice work Bethesda. And thank you GOG, I got this along with Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 on sale.

Adventures in the Capital Wasteland

Fallout 3 was my first game in the Fallout universe, and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to go back and play Fallout and Fallout 2 to see where it all began. Those are very different games, but worth playing in their own right, especially if you want to experience the history of the series. Unlike previous titles in the series, you play the game from a first-person perspective (or an "over-the-shoulder" third-person perspective once you complete the tutorial). Your early life in Vault 101 acts as a tutorial and character creator, as you configure attributes using the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck). You also learn how to use your Pip-Boy 3000. Finally, you come of age and emerge from Vault 101 into the Capital Wasteland where your adventure begins. Lots of quests and many, many side quests later (this is a Bethesda game, remember), you will achieve your goals. This Game of the Year edition also includes all the DLC: Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta, which are all worth playing through. Grab a Nuka-Cola and start exploring!
