This game features a very deep, truly physics based combat system. This is not just some animation feature, it is a fundamental difference that is central to gameplay. Real momentum, forces and collisions are always at play here, every nuance of your inputs is crucial to the outcome. This will likely be unlike anything you've played before and may take some practice, but can be hugely rewarding and the skill cap is virtually infinite. It is not particularly fast paced or difficult but it does require you to pay attention, it is very tactical and just casually pressing buttons won't get you very far!

This is literally the worst attempt for an action role playing game I ever met.
The game or producers try meticulously to focus and emphasize
on its specially physics based controls, which would let this game stand out from others.
It just does NOT. The controls are awkward and not properly done.
In fact, somehwere in the code seems to work some animation based on a physics functions,
but you will need a lot more to make this work as a playable game.
Even Ultima Underworld was more accessible and physically accurate,
than this acceleration and impact force emulator. Hell no.
Please try different stuff, but make it worthwhile.
First of lets get this out of the way. Yes I made this account just now, and I haven't even bought the game on GoG. Before you try to have me hanged, just know that I have been following Exanima and Sui Generis ever since its kickstarter back in 2012. I have probably played over 100 hours of Exanima in total since then.
Exanima's combat is its main strength once you get used to it, but a source of frustration at the beginning. It feels unfair, it feels clunky, and just outright foreign. Its unlike anything I've previously experienced, and it is this fact which have made me love it in time. Because as you play you start to understand that every mistake you make is your own, not the game. You start to understand that the physics based combat comes with a huge emphasis on player skill, and it is pretty great when you learn it. The combat becomes a lot of fun once you get used to it, but that means you have to get past the initial weirdness and frustration of it. If you are someone that does not have the patience for such, i suggest you go looking for an easier game.
The dungeon crawl experience is tense and mysterious, looking for clues as to what this place is and why you are there in the first place (Your character having seemingly lost his memory). The story so far is delivered through the environment and scrolls scattered around, where you have to piece together the story yourself. The story seems to be an interesting one, but the way it is presented isn't a very fun one. There are no npc's (yet) or any form of dialog (yet), which makes for dull story telling. These things are supposed to be added in the future.
The dungeon is pretty large as of now, and supposed to get larger. There are no maps yet, so the player has to find everything on his own. Another point of frustration for me, as you so easily get lost. You will find yourself getting lost and walking in circles quite often, take that as you will.
All in all a Good game, with potential for greatness.
Glorious 10/10 platinum quality game. This isn't some Unity game made by teenagers, these devs are professionals and they know what they're doing. The engine and all of it's tools were scratch made by one guy, Madoc, the teams programmer and lead developer. The game itself looks really good and is extremely well optimized, so even outdated computers can run it at high settings. The gameplay is one of a kind, and while it will take some getting used to, it's also extremely satisfying. Sound design is great, with music that's atmospheric and original, and sound effects so visceral they will send shivers down your spine. The overall game design, as important as the combat, is quite different--the game won't hold your hand and will punish you for making stupid mistakes (something many devs shy away from in order to appeal to larger more casual markets). Overall, the game is a steal for 15 USD, and the devs no DRM policy means you can put a copy on a flash drive and let a friend try it out (even better once multiplayer is added, LAN parties with this game will be amazing).
tldr: buy it you filthy pleb
