Evoland
Fun little title that remixes Retro-games like The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy or Diablo. However, it could have immensely profited from a little more polish here and there. Also, lots of spelling errors.

Doesn't live up to its potential
It's enjoyable for a few hours but that's it. You get theme park versions of classic Zelda and Final Fantasy 6/7, a completely phoned-in Diablo homage, you're pretty much done seeing the world ecolve by the time you're half-way through. The different modalities of the game don't blend together at all (for example, you get bombs and arrows in a Zelda section, but can't use or equip them in the Final Fantasy sections). And the nostalgia elements were predictable, to boot.

Wow. Rage quit & uninstall.
Until a few minutes ago, I had never rage quitted and uninstalled a game during the final boss fight. If I made it this far, I would normally continue to the end. However, this game is different. The basic concept of the game is definitely a catch. But the execution is horribly awful. The "story" is totally blant and uninteresting. The only reason I continued playing was the evolutionary aspect of the game (i.e., how nice will the graphics/ui/music be in the end). One has seen everything concerning this aspect in about 1 and 1/2 hours of gameplay. Some of the "improvements" are indescribably stupid and unenjoyable ("monster kill"). Since the "story" seemed to come to a quick end, I decided to give it a try nevertheless. So while it's rather obvious how to beat the final boss (no spoilers ahead), my approach didn't work for 2-3 tries. So, since I just wanted to finish the game, I looked it up on youtube. The approach was right, but it somehow didn't work out in my case. I couldn't care less. I got this game during the summer sale as part of a bundle, so it doesn't bother me that much. However, in true honesty, I cannot recommend it to anyone. 2 stars for nostalgia.

Nice to kill a few hours
I liked the game. It was already mentioned in other reviews that Evoland is far from perfekt but i enjoyed the few hours it lasted. The concept of time travel was pretty interesting and the problems (flat story, spelling errors, etc.) didn't bother me that much in this short time.

All Show, No Go
This game was a huge disappointment. Despite what many critic reviews said, I really liked the art and concept and thought that those things would make up for the lack of substance. I really enjoyed the first half but it did not develop into much later and it felt overall empty. Since there was pretty much no story, things turned into a chore and I even felt frustrated during the last quarter of the game. The ending is also a huge disappointment... I bought this on sale and even that price was not worth it. I gave it two stars because the art direction, evolution concept, and allusions were overall enjoyable.
