EVERSPACE 2 puts you in the pilot seat in this fast-paced single-player space shooter, where vicious encounters and brutal challenges stand between you and that next epic loot drop. Explore the war-torn star systems of the Demilitarized Zone of Cluster 34—each massive handcrafted area is packed with secrets, puzzles, and perils to encounter.

Experience a thrilling sci-fi story following Adam, a clone pilot seeking his place in the universe. The events of his past tangle with clashing factions as the DMZ approaches a boiling point. Escape colonial capture, navigate the intrigues of local warlords, evade energy-maddened cultists, and fend off war-hungry aliens.

Adam will need more than wits, luck, and skill to survive—gather a team of experts to achieve his payday and finally achieve his dream of escaping the DMZ. Meet old friends and new allies, each with their own stories to tell. They will join you during missions, provide upgradable perks, unlock new abilities, and aid your path forward.

— EMBARK ON AN EXCITING JOURNEY —

Discover alien species, unveil mysteries, find hidden treasures, and defend your cargo against outlaw gangs in an exciting 30-hour campaign. Completionists can dive deep into the EVERSPACE universe and spend more than 90 hours to complete every side mission, finish every challenge, and discover every hidden secret.

— LET THE LASERS DO THE TALKING —

Annihilate your foes the EVERSPACE way. Dodge, dash, roll, and boost guns blazing into frantic dogfights, leaving a trail of space scrap behind. Use a wide range of weaponry and abilities to defeat drones, fighters, heavy bombers, and powerful gunships. But don’t get cocky! Massive capital vessels and ancient guardians will push the skills of even the most experienced pilots. Use your environment to your advantage, and gain the upper hand against greater numbers.

— EXPLORE THE GALAXY —

Enter the EVERSPACE universe and explore it at your leisure. The DMZ and surrounding areas of Cluster 34 are brimming with main and side missions, activities, events, and secrets to be uncovered. Fire up your hyperdrive to discover more than 100 unique, handcrafted locations spread across seven distinct star systems and shape your legacy among the stars.

— HAVE IT YOUR WAY —

Expand your private ship collection from a virtually endless supply of fighters composed of unique classes to optimize your build to perfection. For a price, traders throughout the cluster will help you acquire improved models or send your current ship off for storage as you try a new ship type. Cleverly combine modules, weapons, devices, and perks to fit your individual playstyle and the current mission.

— SEEK OUT SECRETS —

Clever pilots are successful pilots. Loot outlaw caches, salvageable wrecks, and ancient hidden treasures scattered throughout every explorable area of the DMZ. Search structures, solve puzzles, blow up asteroids, and restore ruins to hunt down every one of these treasures.

— EPIC LOOT AWAITS —

Hunt for improved gear to expand your arsenal of powerful equipment combinations. Look for loot that fits your playstyle, but be willing to leave your comfort zone and try something new. Be ready to find and exploit synergistic effects between equipment, perks, devices, and ships to fully maximize their potential.

— LET THE HUNT BEGIN —

Completing EVERSPACE 2’s extensive campaign is not the end! Engage in high-octane endgame High-Risk Areas and Ancient Rifts that allow you to push your build and luck to the limit against progressively harder enemies. Succeed in a run to acquire legendary gear that holds immense power and extraordinary abilities.

better than the 1st

+ has more story to it than the previous title + the combat feels as good as in the first title with minor changes + graphics are well done - I'm not sure if I like the cartoonish cut-scenes they add and drive the story, but I wish we could make at least choices it all feels rushed in the last minute - I don't like the micromanagement and interface

Arcady Fun if you liked Everspace

If you liked Everspace's ship controls but not the roguelike elements this is worth your time. The controls/combat and graphics are very polished, which makes blowing things up in space quite enjoyable. There's a decent selection of ships and legendary items that change things up a bit. Be advised that the controls are arcady and not really suited for a HOTAS setup. If you want realistic flight mechanics, this is not the game for you. My initial worry on seeing this game was that there wouldn't be enough variety in combat and maps and things would get boring fast. This was not the case at all. Past a certain initial point, the map, story, and ship options open up. They also present random maps with modifiers quite early in the game which is nice. The story is a bit of a weak point. It's not bad, and I don't really mind the accompanying art style (slide show animations). It is however, more flavor than compelling part of the game. You'll probably find some arcs more interesting than others. I'd like to see more content/expansions to help keep the game fresh and interesting, but I certainly got my money's worth even at this early date.

So far, I am not feeling it.

In theory, this game has everything it should, maybe besides captivating story. Good graphics, check. Nice steering, check. Good physics, check. Compatent AI, check. Ship customisation, check. Nice music during combat, check. Even some puzzles for those who want it. Yet, the whole feels like something very important is missing here. Maybe fun factor? Maybe frantic speed the first one had? Maybe an unique feel to it? Maybe an overarching idea that connevts all of those elements? It seems like this game can't decide what it wants to be, becoming a little bit if an arcane shooter, a little bit of a space sim and a little bit of pickup and deliver trading game, and all those segments feel disconnected. And, being good on all of those fields, it isn't excellent in any. Please, note, that the game is not yet finished and there will definitely be improvements along the way. But so far... i'm just not feeling it.

Truly fleshed out and worth the price

It's rare I have a game meet my expectations. Even when games do so, I tend to have only middling positive feelings about it. It's even rarer to have a good space game. Everspace 2 takes what worked in various other space games and wrapped it up in a beautiful, fantastic package, while recognizing the failures of every other space game. Instead of focusing on being a mediocre 'sim,' it perfects the space formulae of entertaining gameplay without trying to stick to some old dogma. Combat is robust, the world is well designed, and there's a HUGE variety of set pieces and environments/novelty which is extremely rare for an indie title. Let's just say this is like the devs saw Elite: Dangerous and said, "what if we ignored the stupid literal game-breaking gimmicks and focused on making a fun video game in space and take what worked in Elite instead?" The visuals are stunningly beautiful at times, with gorgeous landscapes. This isn't just 'oh the graphics are good.' Graphical fidelity doesn't mean anything. STYLE does, and some of the space views are just some of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in a modern video game. It has taken its engine and made use of modern graphics Puzzles are simple, require a little thought, but aren't overwhelming, and lean heavily into using visual environmental cues. It makes you pay attention to the gorgeous crafted details of the game and it's an excuse to actually FLY your ship around with some style. How fast you do a puzzle is determined by how agile you are with your ship and your ability to solve them. Normal difficulty is perfect for a relaxed but not mindless experience. Adjust as desired. Some ship classes could use a couple more modules (lego parts for lack of a better term) but overall cosmetics are robust and well designed. Overall, the game is a legitimate 5/5. It has a few flaws, but almost none worth mentioning.
