Blackwell Epiphany

It's been a long time since I played an adventure game that left me feeling this satisfied with the ending. The Blackwell series as a whole felt like a coherent vision, one connected story from start to finish- and yet each game stands on its own as a complete, playable experience. The only major criticism I have is that the puzzles towards the end tended towards the "use everything on everything" variety. When I 'solved' a puzzle I felt more "now how the heck was I supposed to deduce that?" than "oh, of course I should use that thing on this thing, it's obvious now." Overall, for any fan of point-and-click, I'd strongly advise adding the Blackwell series to your inventory.

Most importantly: this game is much, much longer then any of the Blackwell games. It is the most beatiful and detailed of all the games in the series. Great music and a fantastic story with a fullfilling if rather sad ending. Puzzles are very reasonable, not too difficult but the challenge is there. A must play!

Let's get one thing out of the way: this is one of the best Point & Click Adventure game series PERIOD. This last chapter is very cool and while it might not satisfy everyone, it does a pretty great job at both offering an entertaining experience and giving closure to the Blackwell story

I played all five of the Blackwell games in quick succession, which in hindsight, may have been a mistake. I had withdrawals for wanting something similar! This series is epic as far as story goes and I am not ashamed to say that I was truly sobbing by the end of the game. Having become so invested in these characters throughout the series it was so hard to say goodbye and though the ending left me with MANY questions, i do understand why it finished the way it did. Play the series and be forewarned you will be tissues for the finale!

I used to love adventure games but I just don't have the time for them these days. I need things that are reasonably short or that I can pick up on random weekends. This game restored my faith in adventure gaming. It was fun and had a great storyline. In fact, it was so good that it encouraged me to seek out and play all the other Blackwell games - which are also great BTW. Knowing the end didn't in any way spoil the fun of the earlier games.
