Empire Earth Gold Edition

I bought this game when it came out about 19 years ago. I never thought I would be able to play it again, but it works fine on windows 10. I wish Rick Goodman would get back into making these games. Dawn of a modern world, and rise and fall were also fantastic.

This is a great game from my childhood and playing it again on a windows 10 machine brings back so many nastalgic memories - although some reviews disagree it's compatibility on win10 (see below for my specs). Going through the ages, building up a navy force (I prefer the island based maps) and going island to island dominating the AI is geat fun (they never build enough AA guns when attacking with god knows how many aeroplanes from your aircraft carriers). Having your island fortified to the brim with towers/AA guns all along the coast keeping those pesty AI at bay, making yourself untouchable. I could go on and on here with my memories and reliving my experience.... For £4.69 I couldn't recommend this game any higher for it's price, nostalgic memories, gameplay machanics and overall a great game in the RTS genre. Played it when I was a young child and never really figured out the mechanics....but now that I have a degree I can actually beat the computer on medium almost every time - how I've grown! It's simple, focuses on some interesting history (even some near and far future 'fantasy'), and between the base and expansion there's a lot of game to play. Note: I've been playing on windows 10 and have had only 1 minor problem (If one goes to the desktop and then back into the game, the HUD strobes, so I have to go in and out of the settings menu to refresh the image. - all of 5 seconds to fix.)

This game is really what made me like RTS games back in the days but as far as i remebered the AI wasn't cheating so much in skirmishes when in hard.. i mean, storming you at 5min with like 50 stone throwers while controling almost half of the map when you only have your tiny village barely defended by 3/4 soldiers isn't fun.. So exept this imo major problem the game itself is realy good even if it is missing a lot of missions from others extentiond that are nowhere to be found as far as I know Worked perfeclty for me on W10 (even survived alt+tab)

Nothing has come close to replicating the glory that is the original Empire Earth. The ability to go through human history from the stone age to futuristic eras really makes this game stand out. The units, buildings and tech tree look epic, and are easy to understand. Playing a single game is a real journey, and how you progress your civilization is up to you. I used to play this with friends so much, and it makes matches even more exciting, but some games can take a long time if players choose to wait out and invest in the later ages. The only issue I had sometimes was with resolution. It would be great to have it work consistently with the various HD sizes.
