Description
Eador is a universe made of countless shards of land drifting in the Great Nothing. Each of the shards is a little world unto itself, with geography and denizens of its own. The power over the shards is bitterly contested by Masters, the immortal beings mortals believe to be gods.

Take the role of the mighty Master and shape the destiny of Eador! It is in your power to deliver the world from ultimate destruction – or to choke it with an iron fist of tyranny. Eador. Masters of the Broken World is a turn-based fantasy strategy game, where the decisions you make affect the world even deeper than the battles you win.

  • A balanced fusion of grand strategy, turn-based tactics, and RPG elements;
  • Boundless role playing opportunities coupled with a massive selection of stratagems and ways to wage war;
  • An intriguing, non-linear story that unfolds in a living, breathing fantasy world.

Note: This game may require additional serial key for multiplayer mode. In case it is not automatically generated in your GOG.com library (open it via website → select the game → More → Serial Keys), please reach out to our Support team.

Exactly what I wanted - Eador remastered

I was holding off on adding my score/review until the first patch, now that's arrived this gets an easy 5 stars. The new graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is left intact with the campaign getting exactly what was asked for (lessening of the grind and more variety). Eador was always a 5 star game and this is the new definitive version.

So many memory leaks!

Too many animations play at once? Memory leak. Too long spent on the city-building screen when you're in a world with a Key of Truth? Memory leak. Just won a battle in a world with a Key of Truth? Random memory leak, and there's no way to predict which battles will cause it. The devs patched it and patched it and patched it, and they kept saying they'd finally fixed all the memory leaks, and my game kept crashing to desktop every time I so much as sneezed. I want so much to like this game. But I don't think I'll be touching anything else from these developers until they finally learn how to freaking program!

Bugs and Tedium

After having conquered 24 shards and about to lose from a scripted event I have this to say. The game would be great. It is solid in strategic gameplay. BUT... crashes, corrupted saves, the tedium of having to start from scratch over and over again and a large shard requiring many hours to complete made me uninstall it and write this review. The devs to their credit tried to fix many of this things. The amount of crashes has reduced significantly. You can now spend resources to have your powerful hero join you on your next conquest. However, the crashes still occur and the corrupted saves as well. Also you won't have the resources to bring the hero unless you skip turns and then you get scripted event that tells you you lost. You have been warned.

Genesis seemed visually cleaner

I don't think I've ever encountered a sequel that was exactly the same game as the first with just an updated visual style. It's not just similar; it's identical. But what really hurt for me is that visuals while pretty is way less polished and clean to me than the simple original.

Some Perspective

My evening just disappeared thanks to this game. I had a great time and kept having to play just one more turn. It seems like the people are almost looking for lame excuses to give it bad reviews. It was repeated over an over that it was a remake of the game, so people who actually look at what they're buying shouldn't be surprised. Yes, multiplier was greyed out, but that's probably going to be patched long before I'm done with the main game. Yes, the animations weren't quite synced with when damage is taken, but that's completely superficial to the core of the game, and it will be fixed. I agree that it would have been better if they had delayed the launch to fix these issues, but the game is still very much enjoyable, and will only get that much better once they fix them.
