DUSK reintroduces you to a world where butchery and bloodshed must be mastered... if you're to survive 'til dawn. Inspired by Doom, Quake, Blood, Heretic, Hexen, Half-Life, Redneck Rampage and all your '90s favorites, while featuring a soundtrack by metal music mastermind Andrew Hulshult.
In three distinct campaign episodes hand-crafted from straight outta the '90s, players will battle through an onslaught of mystical backwater cultists, possessed militants and even darker forces and attempt to discover just what lurks beneath the Earth. Featuring a vast arsenal of badass weaponry including sickles, swords, crossbows, rifles, dual-wielded and double barreled shotguns and incredibly necessary grenade and rocket launchers, DUSK brings unapologetic retro action from start to finish.
In addition to the main campaign, DUSK features an Endless Survival Mode, putting you front and center against wave after wave of merciless enemies.
And for those looking for an extra challenge, DUSK also offers the chance to go head to head online to battle your friends in DUSKWorld arena multiplayer, where darkness hosts the worst of humanity in surprising new ways...
DUSK features cross-play multiplayer and the exclusive THE GOGATIORUM map for endless mode.
This is a mix of great horror movies and solid gameplay. Of the recent "old school" shoooters I would put this behind Ion Fury, Amid Evil and Project Warlock and it's still fantastic. The retro graphics in this are probably the least interesting of the bunch, but they nail the atmosphere despite the fact that the low poly models aren't as good as well crafted as, say, Amid Evil. The atmosphere might even be helped by it. Either way you know if you like this kind of game, so just buy it if you do.
It is rare that we get games nowadays that are genuinely fun! Games tend to focus on you getting better, quicker with your reflexes and then just start getting more and more frustrating as you're placed against more and more "unfair" odds. That is not the case with DUSK.
DUSK makes you a better player as you progress through the game without the game just being a frustrating choir. I felt so powerful, so badass and I had so much fun. It channeled my inner Quake 3 player reflexes. This game should NOT be passed up on. Get this game if you love old-school FPS games! The game is also quite scary.
This game is SO GOOD! I cannot emphasise on what an amazing experience it was to play this game!
Level design lacks much in the way of personality. The check point save system BLOWs. Some of the levels are long and having to start over at the beginning sucks. The graphics are "retro" so that means not very good, but movement is nice. Jumping is anemic, the MC is related to an elephant and can only jump 4 inches. All ion all I play for a short session until I have to restart way back the rage quit.
YMMV
Its got a really good first set of missions. But as the game goes on it just becomes more and more tiring. These is mostly due to the shockingly boring weapons. Enemy design is also lackluster with a few exceptions
Pixelated yet beautiful graphics. Check. Solid FPS mechanics. Check. Tight controls. Check. Enemies exploding into giblets. Check. No regenerating health. Check. All this and more are in this fun and bloody FPS game. If you're tired of the same ol' modern shooters, Dusk is a breath of fresh air. It takes you back to the time where all you have to do to progress through in an FPS game is to hunt for keys and blow up enemies along the way. Watching those bloody pixelated giblets never gets old. A must-play for all FPS fans.
