Dungeon keeper
It's as good of a game as I remember when I first played it.

Being the Dungeon Keeper and all, this is your home, too. And it’s your business to take these loathsome creatures of darkness and hone them into screaming, frothing, clawing forces of destruction. Lure them in with food and the promise of dank and fetid places to sleep. Keep them in line with the back of your hand and the threat of dire consequences. Pit their scaly hides against the best that the Forces of Good can muster, and they’ll die for you as they rip steaming entrails out of the hapless heroes.
It’s a degenerate and nasty job…and you love it. Yes, home is where your heart is. In a box. Packed in salt. That's right — Dungeon Keeper, Bullfrog's classic dungeon management strategy, gives you no extra credit for having any morals. After all, the underworld isn't black and white!

A Masterpiece In Its Own Class
When I'd heard about Dungeon Keeper for the first time many, many moons ago, I was intrigued. When I actually played it, I realized I had an addiction. As The Lord of All That's Not So Good And Holy, nothing makes you sicker that seeing a realm teeming with love, happiness, and all that rot. You intend to change that. Quite literally carving out your 'niche,' the premise of the game is to design your dungeon, train your minions (different types become available with each new mission), and beat the snot out of the good guys. You know, your typical powermonger fare. Mine out gold veins, build different rooms (from your minions' lair to hatcheries, to training rooms and more) and train your horde. Some of the most fun, though is simply smacking your imps around and watching them run their little butts off, scampering about and doing your bidding. This game will keep you occupied for hours-on-end. Now we just have to hope for the arrival of Dungeon Keeper 2...

A new kind of RTS
Even with its dated graphics and ancient release date, Dungeon Keeper from the old Bullfrog group is a new type of game. You play the evil dungeon keeper and you get to lure the heroes of the world to their doom -- and take their treasure. The graphics are good enough to see what's going on. The sounds and music are fun and fitting. And there's enough moxie to keep you laughing, hideously laughing, at your enemies' demise. If you like RTS games and you're looking for something new in an old game, you'd do well to pick this one up.

Great game, but missing some bits
Really I'd have expected the Deeper Dungeons to be bundled with this, along with the level editor. Otherwise, a great release.

Where is Deeper Dungeons?
While I'm overjoyed that someone in the industry had the good sense to offer what is essentially the same crack that has been illegally available for years for a reasonable price this is only part of the Dungeon Keeper package. Unfortunately for the full experience the consumer may still have to use a crack as the old DK:DD won't work on modern OS. Still, I would absolutely encourage everyone to pay this game and reward this behaviour and if enough of us do so they'll get around to publishing the crack of DD and I will happily pay them another $3 for that too.
