First rate game. Thouroughly enjoyable, interesting to explore, lots of good quests with different approaches working (a couple did seem very slightly susceptible to being impossible to complete unless certain actions were carried out in a very deliberate order, couldn't really tell if this was intended). I found it reasonably challenging at a number of points. Just one critique, the magic mirror, not that it shouldn't exist but perhaps a cost which increases with each use ? Obviously the player can choose not to use it but the player is hardly going to know that on the first playthrough. Anyway overall a first rate game.
Great for coop and meta gaming, mediocre as a singleplayer rpg
The combat is a lot of fun, it's great that every race is so peculiar and your civil abilities really make a difference in how you proceed in you adventure. But what this game is really lacking to be considered a great singleplayer rpg is the lore, which is completely not existing. You'll find yourself costantly asking question, who is that? why is that? And you'll never have an answer. If you go on wiki you can find the lore of the divinity series which has barely anything in common with original sin; so in the end it's only going to confuse you even more.
The world doesn't feel alive, the maps looks like a playground for you to explore and have fights in, the characters are not bad per se but the interaction with them is severely lacking, you'll not care that much about them in the end. The loot is almost completely random and you can't craft good weapons or armora and this was one of the most disappointing things in the game for me. I love unique items and in this game they are too few and becomes useless anyway after a while. I found the music to be rather forgettable and repetitive.
To end this if you are looking for a game with a good atmosphere, lore, characters and story this isn't the game for you. If you are looking for a really fun coop game with addicting combat this definitely the game for you.
Fyi I have played way more than the hours you can see on my profile, i've finished the game around 135 hours of playtime
Around 90h of fun gameplay, awesome loot, lots of interesting stories and midly infuriating puzzles.
If you like RPGs or anything turn based you can't possibly go wrong here.
Something truly unique, 5/5.
A great Game: A huge amout of freedom of Gameplay. Mix it with an interesting premise. Use unique ways to aproach any situation and encouragement in terms of problem solving. Than you add the charakters and social interactions of many kinds.
All togehter you get one of the best RPGs that i have ever played.
