Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition

Yes, I am aware this is still in alpha and yes, this alpha is already really good; for more information on that, read other reviews. The only reason I am writing this is to inform any potential buyers that as of now, there is no option for AI-Scripts that Original Sin - Enhanced had. This boils down to my love for the dialogue system in the game, which lets you discuss decisions with your partner. Now, if you had an AI-Script, that other character would act accordingly and you wouldn't essentially be talking to yourself; this is a thing that made the first game so great. I do not always have someone by my side who wants to play through the entire game and discuss these dialogues, so it was very important to me that I have those in place. In Original Sin 2, those do not exist (yet), which means I will have to talk to myself again, which takes a big batch of fun away. Another side note: Also, it seems to be impossible to play with a controller at this point, something I really loved about the original game as well, but that is only a very very minor complaint.

From the outset let me say that at "alpha" this puts many many AAA titles to shame. The game runs beautifully and is clearly well optmized, the joy of having it developed for PC and not console.

Why doesn't Switch cross-saving work with this game on GOG when Witcher 3 did it just fine? This is incredibly disappointing considering how heavily featured it's been on GOG. Having to buy the game for a third time on your competitor's platform just for this feature is absolutely insane. I've been loyal to GOG for years now but this is the last straw. When GOG releases start being objectively inferior because they lack basic cloud features it makes me lose faith in this entire platform. Get it on Steam instead, that is officially the superior version now. Do not make my mistake.

Yes I give it a one star! I would give it a zero if it would allow me. Everythingi s fine and then when NPCs charm an make your characters mad you just watch how game play itself! No player needed. This is very "fun"!
