Best CRPG
After 90+ hours on my first gameplay, I literally have no words. An absolute masterpiece. Congrats to the dev team; show us the way Larian!

Larian studios - need I say more?
I find no words for this, It's simply a masterpiece and I cant wait for them to make baldur's gate 3. If anyone should make baldur's gate 3 at this day and age it surely is and rightfully so by Larian Studios! Hope they take romances even a notch further, like the star wars old republic MMO(swtor) in BG3.

Larian again got it perfectly right
Its basically everything from D:OS1 but better. + engaging story with a lot of plot detail (npc will react differently when they see you are undead) + quest system is streamlined, its easier to play without walkthrough; still retains RPG-ish sense of exploration and engagement + more skills, classes, schools, items, more everything + better battle mechanics without RNG status effects abuse + more 3d combat with elevation, high-ground bonuses + probably the most beautiful level design I've ever seen in RPG game - playing on normal is too easy, playing on hard is too hard - music in first one was better, more rememberable? - monsters/enemies are just models with sticked various spells on them, everything uses same subset of abilities as player do (you will see spiders casting geomancy spells etc.) - game does not encourage crafting as much as it should, you end with party overloaded with items - there are too much status effects that have minor influence on game

Poorly Balanced
The game is extremely poorly balanced. Even on normal setting you spend the first few levels constantly being slaughtered by ridiculously over powered enemies, but by the time you hit level 6 or 7 combat becomes trivial and boring. Other than combat the game is near perfect, but since you spend most of the game in combat the rest of the game can't make up for this obvious deficit. It's almost as if the devs intentionally put an inverse learning curve in the game. The first island in particular is very badly conceived. You will move from one fight to another being stomped by enemies with many times your power and ability, while your characters have almost no combat options to use to try to outfight your opponents. There is no guidance or path to prevent you from turning a corner and being steam rolled by enemies that are simply impossible to beat at your current level. Hard games are fun, but repeatedly putting your players in positions that are impossible to win because of bad design just wastes your players’ times.

Kinda like Dark Souls
This game is not for everyone. The complexity of this game will turn some players off; but if one invested his or her time knowing proper strategy on fights, reading journals, speaking to NPCs, and navigating the world, this game will be very rewarding.
