Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
This is a good game but like many of its genre, too focused on combat, not enough on decisions. So, it's not a role playing game, it's an adventure game.
But, it's a good game, some people might even want to buy it, and I would say to them that it's worth it... as long as it's under 20$... otherwise don't bother.
I beat this and the expansion to compelte the original triology. If you are a fan, go ahead and buy it on sale.
It's a well built game, playing it is not... annoying. And I am trying not to judge it too hard for 2009. But, then again, think that Oblivion or one of the witchers other rpgs had already come out prior to that.
Cons:
I think the "open world" is super empty- vast-dull- kinda a detriment to this game.
Unlike the mess that was Beyond Divinity, there just isn't a ton of character development. Beyond Divinity actually does a lot of backround on Damien. Here he is kind of this shallow villian figure... at times.
I think the story itself lost me at times--
Quests kinda suck sometimes..Its fetch this- do that- thanks goodbye! I think the quests are a very dated type of rpg style.
Combat isn't awful, but its kinda boring. The platforms with balistas have ground enemies and those are by far the most repeitive.
Not enough imps!
Pros:
I like the Divinity universe
The expanision is actually pretty well made-- I think if the whole game was like that, it would be far better.
I did want to play it when I got home. It is fun. Just kinda suffers time to time.
The switch between dragon and human is kinda cool. I don't love the dragon combat areas but cest la vie.
gets to the loading symbol and then crashes after a bout two seconds of loading. my laptop can run it fine according to the system requirements so it must be a compatibility issue. tried running it on it windows xp and 7 mode to no avail. bit bummed but I have the first two to play through again so i'll suffice
