Abysmal & Overrated

How this game has such high reviews, honestly beggars belief. If this is supposedly the fully updated version of the game, I'd dread to think just how bad the original version was. Terrible combat, awful voice acting and the lack of any sense of purpose, thanks primarily to fragmented and uninteresting plot development. The clincher for me was after giving the game every chance to grab my attention, it just ended up wasting my time completely due to a broken auto-save feature. Yes, there's the option to manually save whenever you want, but that shouldn't be needed if auto-save was actually working properly. Why is this such a gripe? Well, the game was telling me that it was auto-saving in certain areas. However, after one stupid death, I discovered it hadn't ACTUALLY auto-saved anything for nearly five hours of gameplay. At that point, it was time to uninstall. I just can't recommend this pointless turd of a game to anyone.

Really meh.

Divinity finally steps into the third dimension and it was a clumsy stumble. This game unlike the previous divinity games is more of an action RPG similar to elder scrolls Oblivion. The gameplay is way more simple than past games but the story also more simple. The story continues from Beyond Divinity with Damian conquest of Rivellon and to stop him you must become a dragon knight. The problem is you never fight Damien. The main Villain gets away and the game ends with a cliffhanger. The soul of the previous games is not present here. This game seems more like an elder scrolls copycat than a divinity game. To make it worse this game is very buggy. Their is a bug that makes the game load forever if you enter another area. I found a somewhat fix for it but then the game has errors after playing it for more than 2 hours. Larian Studios could fix this but they never fixed any of there previous games so they won't fix this. Basically this game is not worth the time or money to play.

Bad game with good start

The only good thing about this game is the first location, which is well thought-out. All later locations, including the DLC, are poorly made. Dragon form is interesting... for about 10 minutes. Most locations only accessible as dragon are very depressing. Very often finding a spot to transform into dragon turns into unwanted minigame. The overall writing of the whole game is terrible, with player only having an illusion of choice (which will only change few dialogues and have no impact on the wider story), as the story itself is on rails. Main bad guy is lame. Each time, you´ll meet him, he´ll threaten you and summon few enemies for you to kill. The saddest part? You will never get to confront him. Plot twists seem interesting initially, but if you think about them some more, you´ll figure out, they lack any logic. DLC is divided. On one hand, there is a sense of urgency. "Player! Go quickly finish this main quest! It’s important!" On the other hand, you get plenty of side quests, which require you to run all over the city - and you suddenly have all the time in the world to finish them. I often felt like an errand boy. Dragon tower is poorly made. You have teleporters to move around various sections, but you have to walk through the tower and ride an elevator each time you want to use a vendor or teleport outside. If i had to guess, it was done so the player can admire the beauty of the throne room, but if you walk through a dozen times, it will get old quickly. 2 stars are for the starting area, which was fun to explore and do quests in, and some of the jokes.

Not tuned well

This is the third Larian game I've played. This one is the most horrible. Larian moved Divinity into a 3D engine. They use Bethesda's problematic engine. It crashes often, even on the latest CPU, RAM, etc. In Aleroth, I had to lower graphics to be able to move to that village by zeppelin. Here, you find Zandalor closing rifts. Zandalor really hates touches. Not even the mouse can touch him to interrupt his shielding. With that, I decided to uninstall this untested game. Many people tell of Larian's great ability to tell stories, but it only happened in Beyond Divinity. The ability to read minds and riding a dragon is just boring. The dragon just added some flying enemies and extended combat time. Also developers comes with cooldown on spells and hate that so much.
