Description
Listed among the "Top 100 PC Games Of All Time" by PC GAMER (2012), Divine Divinity is an epic role-playing game with hack-and-slash action, offering a huge world to explore and thousands of items to investigate, trade and use.

The game chronicles the never-ending battle between valiant heroes and the destructive powers of Chaos harnessed by the Black Ring, a cult of enduring evil. You play the role of the prophesised Chosen One who under the guidance of the wizard Zandalor must unite the seven races of Rivellon so that you may become the Divine One and stop the birth of the Lord of Chaos.

Key Features

  • An RPG of Epic Proportions
Experience an adventure that will last you over 100 hours, filled with tons of non-linear quests and offering an enormous world to explore!
  • Classless Character Development
You decide what kind of character you want to be! Start out as a warrior, wizard or survivor – each with his own unique ability – then freely choose between 96 skills, regardless of your class.
  • Hack & Slash with a Twist

Only playable in full screen

And at 1920x1080 resolution, that's really not worth the time and effort.

LAG!!

Title says it all... It absolutely is a slide show on newer systems, Ive tried multiple times to get into this game in the past couple years but every time I boot it up Im met with the same issues. The frame rate is terrible, just terrible. As for bugs, I have nerver ran in too many but there is one specifically that I hate. When Im indoors or in a dungeon or similar everything is very dark and my character and NPCs are completely black, like everyone has become a shadow. Would not recommend, I would very much like for someone to fix this game because it looks very pretty in my opinion and from what I have managed to play it seems very fun!

You cannot be freaking serious...

If I had to try and put into a nutshell the things that come to mind in regards to this game, I would say it's clunky, boring, slow, frustrating, and badly designed, Divine Divinity is a complete Diablo rip-off that offers nothing new or even the slightest bit creative to the genre. I cannot say even one good thing about this game. I am trying so hard, but simply can't. It runs extremely poorly on new computers, despite how old the bloody thing is. It's choppy, and I have had to quit a restart a bunch of times because my character got stuck in a wall. I only played about 3 hours total, and it happened more than once. The voice acting is awful beyond words (though that isn't out of the ordinary for the time it came out), the dialogue is lazy, and the options aren't any better written. It feels like a 12 year old wrote it. The graphics, like all Diablo clones, are repetitive as can be, and I can only imagine it gets worse with bigger dungeons you encounter further in. This was an absolute travesty to play. It is a stupid game meant for stupid people who like watching their character walking around doing nothing. I cannot envy any soul who somehow managed any enjoyment out of this POS. Life is too short to play Divine Divinity.

Why is it so beloved?

My every experience with this game is a painful one. No matter how much material I read up on to make a decent build of a character in this game, it leads me no where. I can never get enough XP to level up properly, I can never get a build going that lets me feel like I'm doing much if any damage to any mid tear enemies, and every skirmish leaves me either crawling back to the same house to heal, or dead. Constantly left running every two minutes to heal as I don't want to spend up all my potions that are frequently hard enough to get out of any of the stores, and almost never enough gear to get my character up and running either. It's all a constant ball of frustrations that almost never pays off as fun and I'm done trying. Quitting forever on my 5th attempt when I should have already given up on the 3rd. I pray the other games are worth it, but I'm not bothering with the direct sequels either, I need to find out when QA testing came in.
