Divine Divinity

It may look like diablo-clone, but it's true only before you leave your starting village. Then it becomes a fallout like (original fallout) game with real-time combat. Although this game isn't that balanced or polished, the sense of freedom and exploration pays off for it big time.

I bought this game many, many years ago without any expectations. In the end I have to say this is one of the best RPG's I've ever played and I never regretted playing it. The storyline is well told, the world is completely open and hundreds of side quests never let this game become boring.

An isometric Elder Scroll mixed with Diablo, and then you'll get Divine Divnity. Classless system lets you develop your character anyway you want - and it always ends up being a battlemage. Freeze spell is overpowered, making everything a WHOLE LOT easier.

I picked up the game expecting Diablo, instead I got immersion and depth far beyond most RPGs. Are there some problems? Of course, the voice acting being particularly atrocious. Overall though the good outweighs the bad and I recommend it to anyone who wants a great, in depth RPG.

if you want a mindless game with DICE-ROLLS, No Story, No Atmosphere, No Wisecracks, Multiplayer, Co-Op, CHAT????, No Brains, Handholding and Tower Defense, go elsewhere. Divinity has quirks, class, and a crack load of wishes were horses. if you like thinking about what to do next, enjoying a long battle with a crapload of orcs just for the sake of watching them all drop dead and taking their booty, please, please, play this game. It's beautiful. The art is awesome, the isometric view is PERFECT... i could go on. It's the stuff my dreams were made of. i worry about the sequels though. Why do they always ahve to -IMPROVe- everything? It's maddening.
