The game chronicles the never-ending battle between valiant heroes and the destructive powers of Chaos harnessed by the Black Ring, a cult of enduring evil. You play the role of the prophesised Chosen One who under the guidance of the wizard Zandalor must unite the seven races of Rivellon so that you may become the Divine One and stop the birth of the Lord of Chaos.

Great classic RPG

Nice mix of Diablo-style clickfest and great, deep RPG. First of all the game is HUGE, which is a big plus if you want to get involved in a long, deep game. Just when you think its over, its not. The story is interesting and there are many plot twists. The dialogue is good, and often very funny. I like the flexibility of this game; your character starts out as a Warrior, Mage, or Thief...but at level-up, you are free to choose any of the skills available. You are also not limted in what weapons and armor you can wear. The graphics are good for their time and the spell effects are nice. One thing that kept this game from true greatness: BUGS! There were two points in the game where NPC's crucial to the main quest line became inexpicably hostile and prevented continuing on. Luckily, if you aren't afraid to use a hex editor on your savegame file, these bugs can be fixed without having to restart from a long ago save (which may still be bugged). The solutions are in the GOG.com forum for this game.

Been a long time it seems

I am going to fire this bad boy up now for the first time since the last time I did such. That was when it released. It doesn't really fall into the "classic" category yet, with titles such as Stonekeep and the beginning D&D titles, but this is a masterpiece in it's own rights. The game play I remember was smooth, the action held up, the characters were great overall and the satisfaction of the ending is a memory worth keeping. Off I go!.

What an terrific RPG!

This game does it right, it is a pure and solid rpg game similiar to the Diablo series. It is heavily inspired by the milestone that was released by Blizzard, but in a good way. You can pick usual characters like a warrior, mage, thief and hunter. Afterwards you wake up in a hostile world and have to fulfill quests and defeat monsters. Your adventure is pretty lengthy and there are some great sidequests on your way. Besides the game offers a good voice acting which is pretty rare in RPGs. The gameplay is great, the controls work well, mouse movement and hot keys make it easy to navigate through the immense world. You defeat enemies, collect loot and gain experience and level up. Giving you new abilities. Polished gameplay is what makes this game so great. The graphics are really nicely made and fit well with the setting. Everything looks detailed and nice, enhancing the immersion. The music is really good to and like I mentioned the voice acting is topnotch. If you are a real fan of the RPG genre, you should get this game. It is a classic game which still stands out even after all these years!

Absolute beauty.

When I first played I couldn't even get out of the first village but soon after I got out and did some exploration I was blown away by the scope of this game. 5/5 The difficulty curb is kinda tough but I enjoy it. The graphics aren't 3D but they just don't make graphics like this any more. Loving every minute of this game

What a waste

If you want an experience of obnoxious game flaws, glitches, and design fail's you have found your game. Alot of people rate it high, I think its because they want back the good old days of gaming. I played this when it was first released, it was shit then and its shit now. As I said earlier most high ratings come from Baldurs gate, Arcanum and fallout fans so desperate for another hit title to "take them back" but this is not it. Play BG2 or Septerra Core hell Nox is a great game but not this pile. It will frustrate you but not from game play its from how annoying game flaws that other games had dealt with and fixed five years before this dumb fuckery. In the end you can play it and see for yourself but remember...you were warned.
