Disco Elysium - The Final Cut

RPG I've ever played. Dense and intense story. Remarkable anti-heroes. A world, while fictional, so close to ours, that it leaves more than just one grain of salt to swallow. Perfect gameplay. And a ton of replay value. Well done!

Not eveyrone will have any use for a game which consists almost entirely of engaging in long conversations with NPCs, but for someone like myself, as an old Infocom fan from the earliest days of "interactive fiction," this may be the best story ever told in a computer game for decades.

... didn't work for me. Too much talking, too little gaming. It would be a great book or series. If you liked Planescape: Torment, you'll like this. It's not that I'm a Icewind Dale kind of player, but more of a Baldur's Gate player. That is, games with good story, deep lore, but where you actually DO more stuff.

It's an interesting concept but, after finishing it a first time, i think it falls short : - it's really too short, the map is tiny - It's pretty guided and straight forward ... sometime boring with very long textual giberish - It's graphically poor ... borderline ugly - weak and annoying gameplay : it's slow even when runnning and messy - The roleplaying part is in the end useless (you just don't have enough time to really develop your character in such a short story ... adding points to categories have a very marginal effect on anything ... it doesn't really change anything in the game) - the dice mechanic can be frustrating and kind of unfair - the main character, you, is hard to like imho - the co-main character is also hard to like - the side caharacters are hard to like - They're all bold caricatures of their archetypes In the end i understand it needs to be played several times to explore variations, but i feel it's definitely overated : yes it's different and worth playing, the psychological aspects are good, but the storytelling is really not that great, it's not really challenging, it's pretending to be intellectual when really it's full of political and sociological clichés ... it's pretty much just an old school textual police adventure with limited depth ... so 75/100 is more than well paide.

I bought it for the second time because I already have a copy on another platform. But it is really important to me that I have it here, in my GOG collection and that my purchase I support the developers of the game. I really hope that eventually there will be a Ukrainian translation of this masterpiece - this would be fantastic! Maybe at some point, ZA/UM will add Ukrainian translation support as well.
