Originally developed by Synergistic Software and released in 1997, Hellfire was not an official Blizzard product and did not carry Blizzard’s endorsement or label. Despite that, in response to Diablo players who have expressed a desire to experience the content, Blizzard has given the OK for it to be included as a free add-on with Diablo purchases on GOG.COM.
Hellfire offers a non-canonical single-player storyline where players must defeat a powerful demon named Na-Krul who is threatening Tristram. The expansion also adds a Monk class, new weapons and items, new missions, locations, dungeons, and enemies. Hellfire will be accessible while launching the original Diablo.
Battle.net® multiplayer requires you to configure the Router and Firewall Ports, details can be found here.

mmm fresh meat
I've tried to play Diablo 2 a couple of months ago and it just feels old - mainly for the mechanics: it feels repetitive and boring after spending about 10 years playing the series. Diablo 1 might feel even worse in this aspect. Buuuut... ...if you haven't played it yet, you should. Diablo 1 has a GREAT story. It's simple, but the right word for it is ADULT: the plot in Diablos 1 and 2 are just gold - no, I'll NEVER FORGIVE Blizzard for not making a cutscene to kill Deckard Cain, so Dablo 3 is not in this list. The Butcher is still one of my favourite enemies of all time. Kill him with a dagger and you'll know what I'm talking about. Wait for a sale though, the full price is just not fair for it's age.

First Floor is Amazing...
Clickbait title behind us, the first floor is literally all I've managed to see since the very act of using a stiarwell to either progress to floor 2 or back to Tristram causes the game to crash. This does not seem very "out-of-the-box Windows `10 compatible," especially when you consider before I could get the GAME to load from the launcher (both within Gog Galaxy and from the convienent desktop shortcut) because the moment I chose either the updated version or classic mode, it would fail to launch and lock my system for a few moments. So out-of-the-box, I had to: 1- change compatibility mode to windows xp sp2, revert to 16 bit color mode, and run as administrator. All to get it to even load. "Out-of-the-box" my backend. Then to have it crash immediately after using a stairwell...not very compatible. Then add in the fact that when it crashes, the character I was using, poof, gone, no longer shows up on selection screen. Giving two stars because the first floor and Tristram are just as I remember, and because in a world where 60fps vs 120fps bellends argue of true quality, playing in old 20fps is kinda fun. Tl:dr- Not "Out-of-the-box compatible,"-required several tweaks to get started Game crashes immediately after using stairwells to floor 2 or back to Tristram After every crash, character is deleted
