Diablo 1
One of the best games of all time!
Is this helpful to you?
Originally developed by Synergistic Software and released in 1997, Hellfire was not an official Blizzard product and did not carry Blizzard’s endorsement or label. Despite that, in response to Diablo players who have expressed a desire to experience the content, Blizzard has given the OK for it to be included as a free add-on with Diablo purchases on GOG.COM.
Hellfire offers a non-canonical single-player storyline where players must defeat a powerful demon named Na-Krul who is threatening Tristram. The expansion also adds a Monk class, new weapons and items, new missions, locations, dungeons, and enemies. Hellfire will be accessible while launching the original Diablo.
Battle.net® multiplayer requires you to configure the Router and Firewall Ports, details can be found here.

Best hack and slash
This is STILL one of my favourite games of all time. Don't go into this with newer rpgs/hack and slash in mind, keep your opinions open. This game has 3 difficulties. Wizard: Easy Rogue: Normal Warrior: Hard Everything that "goes wrong" in this game is just designed to be more in keeping with the game. In short, play this. Please. With friends.

The Grandfather of all ARPGs!
I've been rooting for a GOG release of Diablo 1 for many years now. I was really excited to see it there, finally! The game is just about what it was back in the day it was actually new. While the framerate takes a little getting used to, you still get that old feeling you got back in the day. Light radius really does it there. Turning a corner or opening a door can reveal an overwhelming amount of enemies (or if you're lucky/unlucky a huge beast screaming for fresh meat). The GOG release brings a newer version of the game without the screen resolution being messed up but gets rid of traditional Multiplayer (only TCP/IP available). You can still use the regular version for traditional battle.net Multiplayer support. If you're a fan of the original Diablo and come for nostalgia's sake, or if you want a first hand experience of the game that started an entire genre, this is the game for you.

Its 1996 again.
Keeping it simple, Ever played Diablo back before Diablo 2? Your in for nostalgia. if you have played Diablo 2 and/or 3 - Its rough. Like wise with any franchises roots originating within the mid 90s, Bluntly, if you are interested within it genuinely to give it a proper chance? Get it. You won't be disappointed. From my quick testing on windows 7, Not an issue it even includes the "original" version without the back-end tweaks, so you can use the original Battlenet. Sweet, the new version, supporting full 1080p (on my set up) rather than the 640x480p resolution. The controls, speed, the framerate (near locked 20FPS) the poor item management and clunky UI. won't win any awards back in the day, but it is functional. Theres a reason, Diablo was popular. I love the story, I love the graphics (Minus the blood outside the cathedral, because I thought the game was glitching so I checked online, and no - that is just what the blood on the floor looked like back in 96) I look forward to "walking" my way through Diablo, Maybe in a live stream or something. Definitive answer - Its slow, choppy, its poor UI and borderline tedious. BUT, it has one of the best stories you have yet to experience, a part of adventure is the mundane and boring. Some heroes can't run infinitely. These ones refuse to run at all, and yet, they can still defeat the lord of the underworld Diablo. We play it and still enjoy it for the darkness, and rewards down below. Because Hell, is it going to be a night.

Great game
So, I still have my old Diablo and Hellfire expansion disc. Diablo was given to me as a gift about a week after main game's release. It's an amazing game but it's a little frustrating without the expansion. (extra character and ability to run, among other things). I can understand them not having it here as it was published through Sierra, but Diablo just doesn't seem complete to me without it. It's still worth playing though and the price is fair. Still giving it five stars, if for no other reason than all the ears I collected back in the day.
