The Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Season Pass, which is composed of Narrative DLCs and in-game items, is loaded with content that will help to further flesh out the lore of the Deus Ex Universe. Here is what it contains:
Two new story DLC’s:
“System Rift”
“A Criminal Past”
The “Assault” and “Tactical” packs, which include various weapons
I've finally decided to play Mankind Divided. I had a couple of crashes but nothing game breaking and I really liked this game. Graphics were nice, I had fun with hacking, new weapons, quest and I was going to give it 4 stars... but now I can't. Yesterday the game run just fine and today I can't play it. It always crashes during intro on either AMD or Square or other logo. It doesn't matter what I do. I tried reinstalling it: didn't work. Checked out some other ideas from different forums: no success. Basically I can't finish this game and that sucks because I really had fun with it.
and smoother gameplay than Human Revolution, but that's it.
For a Deus Ex game, the story/plot sucks! And the DLC is a big meme itself. Also it crashes a lot too, stuck in loading screens and the game shuts down in some specific places.
The game itself starts in a bit clunky fashion, but slowly grows on you. It is an enjoyable experience, albeit I feel as if it is less of an atmosphere and less of challange, then Human Revolution did.
Technically there are three downsides:
1) You have to set it to DirectX 11 if it crashes: it runs faster, better, and stabler that way.
2) The DLC's aren't DRM free, which is a disgrace for GOG (they need internet connection at launch).
3) The tie-in apps which are meant to give bonuses and additional lore are killed already.
All in all, I had a fun 50 hours in the game, and could recommended it at a sale. It is a B category fun little experience.
While I enjoyed Human Revolution, I think this one is better for one big reason. It feels more organic than HR. This is mainly because of the far better graphics but probably also because of gameplay optimization (better gunplay, more upgrades, more animations).
While Prague may feel less futuristic and the whole story less dramatic, I prefer this new world. The conflicts in this world feel more plausible and organic. The whole city feels more organic, there is more interesting stuff to discover. I also liked some of the characters more along with the fact that Adam Jensen is not that much in the center compared to HR.
My personal Deus EX ranking would be:
1. Deus Ex: great story + atmosphere, good sometimes great world
1. Mankind divided: good - very good story, great world, in terms of complexity almost as good as Deus Ex 1.
2. Human Revolution: Mostly great story, world sometimes too stiff and therefore more mediocre.
3. Invisible war: While the graphics were fine back then, the world feels too lifeless and clumsy. Like having better textures but not enough resources to build an interesting world with it. Also the gameplay was too reduced (only one ammunition type, small inventory, too little RPG elements in terms of character building, small levels). Still the story was good and the world somewhat likeable. Also this is the cheapest, so it wouldn't hurt, to be disappointed.
