Exceptional RPG

This is one of the best RPGs that I have ever played. Demons Roots is one of those games that you get the wrong impression by looking at its cover. Well develop characters, villains, exceptional story and lore of the universe. The Game has an excellent depiction of tragedies, the cost of them and how you as a player has an overall impact of the world. As you go progressing you feel that you are doing something, you get inmerse and invested in the world and their characters. The spicy content(Hentai) are good but It won't be the reason to keep you playing, It's really violent and cruel and I have to thank the devs for no including gore in some of the scenes. 100% recommended if you are into Turn based RPGs and well develop characters and stories with spicy elements(a lot of them). But If you are looking for a Hentai game to quickly explode, I don't think this is the place.

1,5 flaw

It's really good, but you are not evil. You are just not human. Most places consists of 40% slaves and some plases are 90%. Slaves do not count as human, they can never work their way out of slavery and their children also count as slaves. You can write the word evil as many times as you want, but the demons are a benevolent force. The human rule is so abhorent that siding with literal demons is better, and the only reason they don't get wiped off the face of the earth. That's the 0.5 flaw. the 1 flaw is the Isekai plot. For some reason they thought an Isekai plot would fit in a story about demons fighting for survival and world domination while freeing slaves. It really doesn't help that it comes HALF way trhough the story and destroys some of the internal logic either and of course she is a mary sue. Our characters should not physically be able to be where they are at that point in time. It's like the laws of the universe are bending because of this 1 character. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I stopped playing after it. The only reason I enjoyed the sequense was because it was 90% removed from the main story( should have been 100%) and the 2 music track were bangers. If you played "magical girl celephonia"( way better than it sounds), then you know. If you can stomach or even enjoy the Isekai plot, then it's really good. If not, then stay away.

Not an HRPG

I had a great time playing Demons Roots! It's a dark fantasy RPG with a good story and lovely characters. Music selection and atmosphere are excellent! If you're mainly here for H-Scenes, this is not the right game for you.

Excellent Game !

First of all, it's a visual novel with a strong RPG side. That means that it's linear and, if you're more a RPG person, it can be a bit frustrating sometimes to have event/combat rigged to follow the story. That said, it's a wonderful story, long, rich, full of twist and surprises with deep background for each of the main characters. That makes it very very compelling. Unfortunatly, the true ending, very feel-good actually, seems a bit thin in comparaison, with only a handful of sentences. It lacks closure. Also, it's more a R-18 than a regular H game. There are several scenes well integrated in the story, but the majority of them are totally optional. Be warned that if you play at normal difficulty you won't be able to unlock them at the end. It's kind of a downer since the only other difficulty setting is very easy and less enjoyable. I don't understand that choice from the dev team. There's a NewGame+ feature, you keep everything although not all may be used right away. There is an optional new dungeon from the very beginning, but it's a bit too hard even with maxed out character for my taste and from what I've gathered, gives nice loot, but not much more...loot that you don't need anymore really since you've already played the game. That said, it's still a solid five stars (and more) and highly recommended.
