After the Demon Lord's defeat, the remaining demons fled to the Dark Realm. A thousand years later, on the verge of extinction, demonkind decides to invade the human world again in one final struggle for survival. However, the world they return to after years in the darkness isn't the same as it once was.
Humans have turned against their fellow man. Downtrodden and defeated, the poor find an unlikely ally: the same demons who terrorized humanity a thousand years ago. Together with the demons, they fight against the world's victors, the ones who hold all the power, to gain their freedom and create a world they can call home.
Play as the demon Deathpolca alongside an eclectic cast of characters, including demons, an FBI agent, and even a gladiator. Lead demonkind to world domination as they conquer the continent one country at a time.
Gain various items and skills as you navigate the story's twists and turns, then use them to fight powerful enemies. Find hidden treasure and face overwhelming super bosses if you're looking for a challenge.
Meet an Unforgettable Cast
As you advance your quest for world domination, you'll meet a wide variety of characters, from lovable allies to detestable villains. Who will you persuade to join your cause, and who will oppose you to their dying breath?
Unlock Music as You Play
With a host of memorable tunes, including seven original songs by popular composer Shade, you can access the game's sound test to listen to any songs you've already heard. Feel free to attend and reflect on your world domination to your heart's desire.

I'll keep this review simple, if you like JRPGs and don't mind typical JRPG and just in general action-adventure story tropes then you'll probably like this since it's a really good one. If you don't like JRPGs or you don't like darker and/or sexual content you probably won't.
I've cleared the game in a little over 47 hours, and I have to say, if you are from a generation that played and loved those old school RPGs for their epic high fantasy stories, and epic story line, you have come to the right place.
The mechanics are simple early menu-based 2d battle screens, but with some depth to it. The setting is high fantasy but unique, and it goes some dark places too. The premise is also unexpected and there is quite some lore. Story telling is good, with some minor tonal dissonance at times, but overall highly entertaining.
Concerning the H scenes, they are ok, but honestly while there are quite a few, there isn't a "47-hour playthrough" amount.
You shouldn't get this game if that is the only thing you are interested in.
If you are interested in a novel yet classic, and sometimes quite dark and raw, high fantasy story that includes sexuality, this is a really good game and I am happy I played it.
This is my first adult themed game, without taking into account lewd Skyrim mods.
The story gets intricate, has twists, and there are many collectibles along with new game+.
I didn't need to spend hours grinding, I even felt a bit too powerful at the end, so dont overgrind, that is my only tip for you. If all the adult stuff is a bother, you have a menu option to turn that off completely.
I am looking forward to play more games from this developer
This is a very dark game, in which the demons themselves wonder how humans can be so effin' cruel toward each other
I'm playing on lowest difficulty, being able to zoom through the fight, just to get to know the story
The H-content is completely skippable, and mostly presented as a side-game between chapters, in which you can get some extra gear (which isn't needed if you're only in it for the story)
Demons Roots begins from the perspective of two children on the day of a festival. Through their perspective we learn about the generico history of the world: demons used to rule, humanity overthrew them, and now the world is at peace. We also learn the conventions of this world, such as how children are trained to fight from a young age in case the demons ever return. It’s also, of course, an excuse to give us tutorials in a diegetic matter. You’re two kids being told what to do by the adults.
However, after this short tutorial chapter, we switch to the perspective of a demon, and from that demon we eventually find our way to the main character: Deathpolca. I’m sure a bunch of you are thinking “that’s a dumb name” and yeah, it totally is, but… you get used to it somehow.
Through this short sequence of perspective switching, climbing up the ladder of demonkind, we learn that all the human conventions we took for granted during the tutorial are lies, carefully planted in the minds of the common folk by the world-ruling Emperor. Nothing is as it seems, and this generic premise is nothing more than a facade. Having full control over the continent, the controlling Emperor forces the nations to do his bidding and war amongst each other while giving them sovereignty in name only. We don’t know why he’s doing this, but we know that his plans eventually result in a world where the 99% are owned by the rich 1%.
This is just synapse. I give story 10/10, music 10/10, art 8/10, gameplay 8/10, 10/10 pacing, fantastic game. My Favorite JRPG
