In a grim dystopian future, where mankind has scattered across the galaxy and the human society has split into two distinct classes, you are a poor stateless outcast forced to live off scraps from derelict alien stations and ships in the outer space, yet you dream of becoming a privileged citizen and living on the surface of a habitable planet, enjoying non-synthetic air, water and food. A fabled alien derelict ship somewhere within the Deep Sky sector of space is your voucher for a citizenship and a promise of cozy life on a hospitable planet.
Build and control a squad of up to three mercenary characters and set on to explore derelict ships within your reach from the scavenger's base. Searching the derelicts for loot and clues, you come across many friendly inhabitants and traders, but more often – various enemies. Challenge and defeat them in tactical turn-based fights, where randomly-drawn cards form your changing arsenal of combat actions, gain experience for yourself and your crew, loot dead bodies, resupply and upgrade once back at your base. The scavenger's home ship gives you the opportunity to heal and level-up your mercenaries, recruit new ones, equip them, upgrade their gear or recharge energy for life support during missions.
Key Features:
Fresh take on turn-based combat with cards
Refined sci-fi comic book look & feel
Endless customization options for characters and scavenging teams
High replay value thanks to procedural generation of content
Story of the human society divided within a dystopian universe
Don't expect ANY support if you have ANY questions or issues regarding this game. The "company" is made of 7 jerks with just a snarky twitter account and no official website. The game has no additional documentation save for a basic in-game glossary. The levels are monotonous and tedious with barely any variety. The DLC is a TOTAL waste of money.
I wanted to like this game but it's trash.
This game is quite fun at first but gets boring fast.
Not sure why perhaps the repetitive nature of the game. Seems a very front loaded game. You get to experience everything in the first couple of days then you've seen everything.
The style is very fun and appealing. I think even the atmosphere is good. The story is okay not that interesting to be honest.
I think the game could be saved by adding more unique locations and enemies instead of the same old gray boring ship with the same old gray boring enemies and doing the same old boring motions. And adding more strategy.
For example imagine a mining colony ship with silicon based life forms which are weak against ice weapons but immune to fire/laser. Or imagine a swamp/farming colony ship overrun with poison barb spitting plants that are immune to poison/acid but weak against laser/fire. This would require you to strategize a bit more. Would also be interesting to have more alien/unique player classes.
As it stands the game is really a glorified clicker and you mainly depend on RNG gods to help you.
Fun concepts wide variety of merc classes offer replayability some bumps along the way but fun for me. Enjoyable soundtrack too. Nice comic art style in an oversaturated genre.
Really loving the theme and aestheric. The game has a bit of a clash when it comes to what it wants you to do in terms of items. Do you prio good stats on items or stick with less than optimal items that give you the cards you want to use.
It is a balancing act that relies a bit too much on luck for my liking as I am perpetually poor in this game so using items as reroll tools makes me sad.
I loved darkest dungeon 1 and this is similar enough that it falls in the same sub genre for me. so 5/5 would die too random modifiers again.
Great art, and fun characters, and combat. However, the farther I progressed the slower the game became. Restarting the game did not help. I should also mention that the Linux version isn't updated with some quality of life features you find in the windows version.
