Deadlight: Director's Cut

It is pretty good game with good story. Only thing that bothered me is delay during jumping. It is one those game which prioritize animation over gameplay, hence whenever you need to jump it must do its animation which delays the actual jump which in my opinion bad for platforming game. In a platformer jump should be quick and should have higher priority over other. Other than that game is aesthetically pleasing and has good narrative. It get a repetitive but also do not stay longer.

There is wonderful artworks, mediocre script and awful programmers work. And there is a huge bunch of bugs, because this is port by not-mother-studio.

I only played this because I got it with one of GOG's free promotions. The aesthetic is nice, but the gameplay is clunky. Many areas are trial and error because you suddenly have to start running out of a collapsing building with no room for error. Die, repeat, protaganist decides he doesn't want to climb fast anymore or jump off the fence, die, repeat. I was playing through Steam Link so not sure if there was some lag, but the amounts of times I would sprint and leap for a long jump and the he would fail to jump and then fall to his death was countless. For a survivor in a zombie apocolypse and a woods ranger, he can't swim in anything higher than waist high. That made no sense to me. Voice acting was terrible, I couldn't care less about the story or his nightmares. Halfway through the game you end up in an underground obstacle course created by an old man, which was completely random and didn't seem to fit. You only move in a 2D space, yet enemies can move in a 3D space which gives them an advantage over you. In many areas you can't tell which platforms you can actually interact/jump on or which are in the background. As mentioned earlier, I don't mind the design choice and the look of the game. Its just executed poorly. Thankfully it was under 4 hours long and its the only reason why I persisted in finishing it. This game frustrated me so much that it compelled me to write a review for it (my first ever).

First of all i finished the game while not really trying to enjoy it (i needed more disk space) it was a mistake to play a game not for the joy of it. I probably got the game for free sometime ago and i agree with the reviews that say the price is too much for it. Well this game has good but not hard platforming and good story(i didn't like the ending though) And it isnt long enough but it was a good experience to have even though i suck at puzzles. Idk if i should name them puzzles but i do know that i wasn't good enough in the game.

The title of this review says everything: it is a zombie apocalypse platform game set in the 80's an heavily inspired by the Prince of Persia Classic. It develops the genre the same Assassin's Creed Chronicles does. The puzzles are pretty easy and the controls sometimes are kinda unresponsive (maybe the issue is my computer, why not?). However the atmosphere, the soundtrack, the story are really great. The characters are well developed, so we care about them. I did not like so much the voice actor that Tequila Works choose for the main character. The actor is realy great, but I don't think his voice matches the character, since his voice is so dark and guttural that evokesperfectly an anti hero retired soldier, but the character is actually just a common guy who used to work as a ranger. There are people complaining the game is too short. I don't think I can agree. It is not that long, but if it was so longer than it was, it might get tedious. I think its lenght is just fine.
