Dis game is fuken skawwy dood hoooly shit Poland amirite?

In my opinion Prob the best horror (after Resident Evil 3) i ever played and there is no jump scares - whole game is just big intense of tiny sounds weird noises and dark music - very very very nice combination of atmosphere - you made it great AcidStudio

The best that Darkwood offers is a tense horror experience without jumpscares. So, the first hours are great indeed: you are exploring vicinity for materials, get scared every rustle and shadow, barricading the shelter, shaking with fear at night when you catch sight of some creature through the boarded up window. You learn the Forest, and eventually you end up with understanding that you shouldn't spend resources on barricades (there're almost useless), you shouldn't touch every meter hoping to find scarce timber or gasoline - there are plenty of them everywhere. The one thing still remain - enemies can give you a lovely sweaty clutter every time you overestimate your capabilities. Nevertheless, I highly recommend to give a shot to this game. There are options for replaying to go deep to the peculiar lore, you get slightly new generated terrain every following playthrough. And don't forget your sense of humor - even in such a dark place it may be useful.

Just love it. I have played it through and the first playthrough took me months to complete (don't be fooled by the relatively short game time advertised), as I was fully invested in the world and explored everywhere. As soon as I completed it I started a new game to try and be better than before. Very repayable. I can't wait for these devs to make something new!

Nie umiem za bardzo pisać recenzji, więc postaram się streścić. W grze nie ma jump scare'ów, co ani trochę nie zmniejsza jej straszności, a wręcz zwiększa. W nocy (choć za dnia też jest strasznie) można się po prostu zesrać. Nie widać co jest za nami ani czasami przed nami, jeśli nie ma się światła. Oświetlenie działa idealnie (lepiej nie mogę go sobie wyobrazić), ścieżka dźwiękowa przeraża i dodaje klimatu a otoczenie idealnie pasuje. W skrócie przy grze nietrudno się zesrać ze strachu. I'm not good at writing, so I'll try to abstract. In game aren't any jumpscares, and it doesn't weaken the game, but even make it more terryfing. In night (but sometimes even during the day) You can just sh*t oneself. You don't see what is behind You and sometimes what is in front of You if You don't have light source. The lighting work perfectly (I can't image better one), soundtrack scares and add climate, the enviroment fits better than great. Shortly during the game it's easy to shit yourself.
