Better than most reviews make of it
I 'll keep it short. It is a little bit like Dark Souls only more forgiving and enjoyable in case you dont like to die a hundred times per enemy. I am a veteran of the Darksiders franchise and honestly the evade mechanic is a bit akward in the beginning but it soon grew in me, meaning i liked it. Anyway a fun game that deserves more credit.

I just stopped playing
I did end up enjoying this game but like,, I don't know even though I was having fun I sorta just got bored and stopped playing. The world the game takes place in isn't very interesting so I wasn't very motivated to explore, and while I liked the combat it was very repetitive and couldn't hold up the whole game on it's own. The game just glitched and let me skip an entire boss fight which kinda sucked and broke my feeling of immersion into the game. Every time I opened the game it would stop being fullscreena and make me go change it in the settings. IDK it started out fun but it's just too repetitive and I don't feel like finishing it. Also having deluxe editions that cost more than $60 is fucking bullshit, cut that out greedy corporate blobs of flesh

I want Darksiders, not dark souls
Unfortunately, souls-like elements completely ruined the experience for me. Whenever I play I do like to challenge myself but this is just a bunch of frustration, which is a damn shame because I really like Darksiders series. I only managed to squeeze in 4 hours in it before my limit was hit. Maybe I will come back later to finish the story.

Some what a let down
I have loved the first 2 darksider games. Really really loved them. I bought this hoping it would honestly be more of the same. It isn't. This isn't the same type of game. It is extremely punishing and that might honestly be fine for some people. However the combat controls are not "tight" or consistent. If you want to make a reflex based combat game you need to have really responsive controls. The evade in this one is extremely lacking. In previous titles you could intercept and counter in coming attacks which felt good. It felt clean for the most part. The hap hazard evade in this one is more a gimmick. You dont have the visibility to roll in a lot of areas and when you do roll you can still take dmg. The story is good though I dont really sympathize at all with the character. She isn't a likable character like Death or a wronged character like War. She is just kind of a hateful wild card.
