Darksiders Genesis

I like the voice acting and story alot so far. Darksiders always oozed with passion but felt it has been held back. I really hope THQ Nordic can give this enough time and with the right forsight make this into a long lasting possibly game development as a service kind of game. The world already provides for endless possibilities. I really like to see that they show nice effort for us keyboard and mouse gamers who cherish the possibilities of the tools we like instead of a controller. The game says it is best played on a controller, but i disagree. I can not be alone prefering the button alignment of the keyboard and mice over any controller. The controls and keybindings when not using a controller might take some time to adjust, see it as part of the general learning curve and just get over it. I hope for continous improvements on the ui and controls. The graphics are totally in line of the game and what you expect from Darksiders and the textures look pretty neat. I hope for a map marker to show the current player position as the camera is controlled by the game and its rotation can make it confusing where your current location is in relation to the chests and stuff. You would think you stick to Strife because range obviously seems superior, but War brings the muscle to the battle, can stand his ground for you and generally it is very useful to switch characters regularly. All in all if you like what you see from Darksiders, this game is an extremly good bargain for what you get. A solid game with just minor annoyances mostly ui, keybindings and aim mode (can't speak for controller), an epic story with characters which feel powerful and at the same time leave potential to improve during the playthrough and voiceacting that immerses you into the world through the characters even more. If this continues the right way this is truly the genesis of all future Darksiders games, if this game is treated with the deserving care from development and publishing. Buy it.

i'm a recent fan to the franchise, but this one (while being different than previous titles) is very enjoyable in its own right. it's more of a top-down brawler/twin-stick shooter than an rpg, but still very good. the art is phenomenal and i can't get enough of the dialogue between characters. i see some reviews saying it's too short and that's super disheartening bc i'm a few hours into it and i am *hooked* for more. you should absolutely get this game, i think it'd be cool to play over and over.

I was skeptical about the new perspectiv. However, the mechanics of the combat are basically the same, is fast paced action at its finest, the game looks good, sounds good and controls good, except for some weird glitches and minor bugs I have not encountered anything detracting from the experience ( I can blame myself for most of the glitches, trying to break sequences and exploring like a good treasure hunter) The game strongly suggest the use of a gamepad, and trust me, you want to get a controller because there are so many commands that I couldn't see myself playing with the keyboard. Is Darksiders, but isometric, and it's good.

I waited 10 years for this game. Finally playing it with my friend... it's a mess. This isn't a finished game. This isn't a AAA title. Firstly, the jumping... Jumping has no place in a game of this type. Secondly, My friend drops in and out... causes problems. His progress isn't saved. And he encounters invisible barriers in doors that we unlocked last time. Thirdly, We cannot talk to Vulgrim to start the second mission. This is a complete joke. An insult to the franchise. I wish I could get my money and my friend's money back for this.

This is really good game with an amazing sountrack and tells a compelling story in the darksiders timeline. It has a good replayability and an interesting RPG system that can change the way you approach combat. You could play coop with a friend or your +1, split screen is also available, enjoyable with a big screen. If you are a darksiders fan, this is a must and if you are not it is still an enjoyable ride. Pun intended. The puzzles can be challenging but they are doable dont take it personally, besides you dont have to get everything to enjoy the game. Hint: those jumps are puzzles, you got find out which type of jump is required. It can be challenging controlling your character with a top-down view if you are not used to it, but you will get there. I did. Okay, I am done sucking this game d**k now. Enjoy it.
