Be sure to get this patched to 1.04. Other than that, this game is also a glorified toolbox to enable your WW2 grand strat modding desire become a reality (there's a large content of mod tools and resources contained in the install even such things as Photoshop masks) by contrast to vanilla HoI2. If only this came with the superb hierarchy tree of the later HoI3 it'd be nigh on perfect.

Surely an immersive and in depth game. However, when I installed this game, needing to change my Windows 10 settings and download some old Direct X files, I was immediately confronted with a serious bug. The decisions tab that is supposed to show as newspaper articles on the left side of the screen is non existant, and no amount of tweaking and research could make it appear. And this has been stated to be one of the most important aspects of the game. Now, you have no overview of what events you have, and what is needed to trigger them. Very disappointing. I don't think the base installment of a game should contain such a fundamental bug. The game itself is good, but this bug really kills it for me.

Great grand Strategy Game about the 20th century

Good: The tech dev is excellent in this game. The known historical events are fun - but railroad you into a very narrow course of action Bad: Hard to follow alot of what's going on, with pop ups everywhere and graphics take up space. The map only allows for one filter at a time. If you want to see weather you can't see terrain, or territotial control or even resources. I have played alot of hours of this game and initally it's fun building the tech and making political decisions. When the war starts its ridiculously overwhelming pop up infos everywhere and no fun at all.
