Dagon: by H. P. Lovecraft

As many wrote before me, this is a short visual novel / audio book / interactive movie, that can be completed within a hour. There is not much to do, except following the story and that's alright in my book. With excellent narration, visuals and atmosphere, I believe that the developers made this as a labor of love and it shows. As a Lovecraft fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

New to Lovecraft's writings, I read those about Cthulhu and Dagon a few months ago and found that this short, narrated visual novel was a fine realisation of those pages brought to life. A work of art, free to enjoy, for those interested in a century-old classic terror story.

Literally took me half an hour. This is essentially an illustrated audiobook, It's quite nicely done, with lovely 3D graphics. A narrator reads the short story Dagon and you click along after each short excerpt, with bonus trivia scattered around to discover. Would I play a full length "game" like this - no way! But a Lovecraftian short story? Quite diverting! If you've got half an hour to kill, it's well worth a quick look.

i enjoyed the voice acting on the short story its very simplistic by design. look at and click at, move to next scene. ive played other 360-degree-photo visual novel style games none of them are great but they offer a small (free) experience for roughly an hour.

Extraordinary graphics, extraordinary sound, an has a few surprises thown un the mix. Now about the story, that depends on your relationship with mr Lovecraft, but as far as bringing it into a game, I think they did a great job. I'm sure with a story like this, other developers would have something very different to say just as every reader fills in the details with their own imagination. In short, give it a spin and have a good time.
